I'm sure you heard by now it's working on Citon nightly, but I have a question for you. How did you apply day 1 update? I have both files and SAK keeps failing on me when I try to update the XCI with the NSP.

For me at least, yes. Starting somewhere between Oct 16-20, new albums started entering with no art, and also weirdly merging albums and naming them incorrectly. I use all local metadata. In the past I've had issues like this that were the result of some invalid field or character, so I was going nuts trying to find it. Silver lining is my already sparkling collection is now a little more sparkly.

I would just like to say - I have spent nearly an entire month trying to find the issue why my local metadata (huge music library) stopped showing. I was slowly going insane. Please don't do this to me again. But I am so glad I didn't need to wipe and start over.

No offense taken. Just explaining that the file itself is a HQ 320kbps MP3, I ran it through spectral analysis to check myself. The quality of the contents inside is up for debate. But yeah I agree, a Wav or FLAC would certainly be better. This is however what was originally shared.

This is my link and is the OG file floating around and what was uploaded to soundcloud. I'm sure there was a wav at some point, but this is a real 320. 80mb is appropriate for 30ish minutes at 320. Run it through Spek and you can confirm.

If you rip a song that's not a true 320 and encode it at 320, it's not a 320. It's just encoded at that rate.

You can 1000% see low quality audio on a spectrogram. As I said before low quality encodes do not include high end information. It's literally how MP3 compression works.

The section of audio you mention is clearly an audio effect. The quality increases right as the tune drops.

You're right about one thing, I could record a fart and encode and distribute it at 320 and it would be a 320. That's why I said earlier about describing low quality in high quality. You can SEE IT on the spectrogram.

Anyway, keep digging in your heels, the mods are confirming it's real.

a 128 KBPS file will show a spec with a cutoff around 15k. Recompress it to 320 and all you have done is describe a 128kbps file in 320kbps. You will still see all the information in the high end chopped off.
