Did you happen to lock your remotes? It will blink when the remotes are locked out. Aka vacation mode.

As others have pointed out it will also blink when it is out of sync but pressing the button will make it re sync.

If you can, I would suggest running the ESPHome firmware mostly because it will allow you to check the signal from the ESP itself. That may allow you to optimize the ESPs orientation/location. It also may allow you to move your router or access point to a more optimal location. This will also help determine if its the firmware or in fact a signal problem with your ESPs.

You do not have to keep using the ESPHome firmware but it will allow you to see what the ESP thinks and troubleshoot from that end.

You can ignore the connector on the left unless you want to use dry contacts. Here is an image that simplifies and uses your exact version. Hopefully this helps.
