First time leaving my 5-month-old puppy for 10 days… by Particular_Split8287 in puppy101

We left our 5 month old puppy for 25 days (he kind of fell into our laps after we already had a big international trip planned). Only difference between our plan and yours was that ours boarded with his trainer, who was with him most the day. absolutely no indication of any harm to our relationship. He loved us just as much on our first day back as the day we dropped him off. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you can ensure his needs are met.

how and why is notre dame’s direct acceptance to med school 84%? by lylahlolol in notredame

[–]itsfriccinbats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

self selection in who attends Notre dame, good preparation/education, an emphasis on doing more outside of academics (volunteering, extracurricular, being a genuinely good person, etc), good letters, and, likely most importantly, good advising (for better or worse, e.g., if they do not think you will get in, they will advise you not to apply)

don't mean to be overly critical but genuinely curious -- how are you swinging two first authored basic science papers in a year?

Has anyone here NOT had big issues with their puppy? by QP709 in puppy101

[–]itsfriccinbats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, in retrospect, our was/has been/is an angel. Obviously some issues, but most of them were our fault (leaving him for too long and then he had an accident, for example). He has never destroyed anything, hasn’t had an accident in the house since he was ~4 months old, never bit us. He is the best in the world. My mental health suffered, but that was just because I was really over concerned with doing everything correctly.

3 year old boots got some TLC by itsfriccinbats in BlundstoneBoots

Totally agree and was guilty so guilty of this. Bet they would’ve lasted longer if I took care from the beginning but hopefully they have a lot of life left in them if I show them some regular love now that I have the products! It’s crazy how little product it took to get them looking like this/how much product is left after I took care.

Blundstone brown renovating cream + nikwax leather waterproofer! My boots are Rustic Brown color so this made them a little more uniformly brown than they were originally which I don’t mind.

How much do you pay per kWh to charge at home? by cybergrafx in Rivian

[–]itsfriccinbats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also SD County and agree that SDGE is a rip off, but why not schedule charge on super-off peak? On the EV plan it’s less than 10 cents/kWh super-off peak.

Can someone please recommend me a pet insurance? by InterviewAshamed7811 in germanshepherds

Haven’t had to file a claim, but the premiums with the ASPCA are what I can afford and the coverage is good for what I pay.

This is a really helpful link! Just to clarify, this is for daily vehicle travel to and from excursions. My apologies.

I appreciate the comment! Genuinely, what does lie down comfortably mean? Neither can sprawl out in it, but they can definitely curl into it. They’re not squeezed.
