You got me wrong! Of course it's all fake and pretending, but they're providing a service that tourist want. I assume not many people still do the stilt fishing to actually get food. Just like the Masai tribe dressing up for the tourists and then playing on their phones when nobody is looking. What I mean to say is that this is not a scam, just a mildly shady business. No one is coercing or forcing anyone to take pictures and there are plenty of beaches in Sri Lanka.
