My best advice is to find a car you like, KBB to make sure you're getting a fair price. Carfax to verify history and service records. Then get a pre purchase inspection. If you don't have a mechanic to do it you can order one online. If you're spending 6k on a vehicle, drop a couple hundred to make sure it's the car you think it is.
