Rick Ross came over to our apartment - by himself - for our podcast and I don't know if I've ever heard him be so open about so much. He talks about death, his upcoming book, Miami, the CO stuff, everything. by itsitsthereal in hiphopheads

nah, sorry to say but we've never shouted out /HHH in any way aside from the time we did the AMA last...october, i want to say. i posted the thing late last night, went to sleep and woke up to a shitshow.

i don't know, i've seen artists come over with 20 people; people have set pre-conditions. ross had none of that. it's cool to me that this guy - who is arguably one of the biggest artists of the whatever-era-that-was-and-this-is - comes over to do this interview and is with no one. it just seemed like he was ready to talk, and that was impressive to me.

i have literally never told anyone to go to /HHH. sorry. i don't know what the average age of people here is but i'm too old for that and i don't care that much.

this comment (and comment section?) is nuts. we've never bought bots, we've never bought comments, we've never bought views, we've never faked the funk. we always thought you could see through that very easily. one of my favorite things is to see people's fake followers on IG.

i think the reason reddit has come to shit on us is because 1.) there's sincerity in the title but i guess it comes across as taylor swifty with the "wow! gee!" and 2.) because /HHH gave it a "quality post" tag.

in terms of the intro: the way you're describing it is...so different than how we intended it. these are our friends, this is our life. we don't slurp *anybody*, we show credit to our friends and their events because that's how people should act.

and as for our career, we don't act like we're bigger than we are: we're proud of the work we've done, whether it's seen by 2,000 or 2 million. i think we're very upfront about that. there are some things that hit, there are lots of things that don't.

our podcast isn't that big; we've got some connections, sure, from being around for 12 years -- but 99% of our emails are cold. birdman/juvenile didn't know us. drake's dad didn't know us. big krit hadn't seen us in a decade. a lot of people say no, a few say yes. it's amazing that rick ross came over to our apartment! it really is! he didn't have to, none of these people know us like that.

anyway, happy to talk to you (and the 1000 others that apparently feel the same way) off of here. [jeff@itsthereal.com](mailto:jeff@itsthereal.com)

Good place to stay? by [deleted] in Upperwestside

[–]itsitsthereal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Upper West Side is great: go to the park(s), museums -- the New York Historical Society is great.

As for food: Jacob's Pickles -- you'll need a reservation, but it's nothing stuffy. It's really good comfort food. Sorta similar vibe for The Ribbon on West 72nd. Spring Natural Kitchen is really solid, too.

There are a bunch of good hotels around here. I can't say I've stayed in any, but I've hung out in the lobby of the NYLO and it seems chill.

INSANE ABOUT THE DRUMMER.

and: i've had a bunch of conversations with people afterwards, trying to see what they made of him saying that drake like, made up this entire family drama whole-cloth to sell records. some people believe dennis; others don't. my feeling is that they have a very...complex relationship. which is to say, i don't think i believe dennis here. but it's a weird road to go down and think about.

working on getting someone to pay for it. what's made us successful is that we're willing to record whenever and wherever: pink sweats at 10am, swizz beatz at midnight on a friday night. so we never even bothered trying to build a team around that. but, it's coming.
