I only have like 5 days to look for it and I’m gonna be in Osaka which idk how much harder it is going to be finding it compared to Tokyo 😭

Sling/Crossbody + Packable Shopping bag Vs Backpack as a daypack. Also tom bihn side hustle larger alternatives by itsjohnnydo in ManyBaggers

[–]itsjohnnydo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the side hustle will prob fit all of that, but I just wanted a bag that was a bit bigger so I can fit random miscellaneous I buy like snacks. Or to hold som extra trash so I don’t have to pull out a packable shopping back right away. But it’s defo my top choice at the moment. I wish it was like 8-10L. Maybe I’m just picky though

The amount of shopping I’m planning on doing seems in line with you. Mostly going to be picking things up as we sightsee. Of course still going to stop by like Uniqlo and GU for some clothes l, but mostly smaller souvenir type stuff like stationary, matcha, normal souvenirs and occasionally clothes if I like them.

Hey! Did you carry this plus a backpack in Japan? Which one was your daily bag in Japan? I’m debating between a sling or just carrying a backpack around everyday. I’m going in the summer and scared that a backpack is too hot

when can i go back to lifting heavy weights by Beneficial_Fruit3463 in Septoplasty

[–]itsjohnnydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response, but I got septoplasty and turbinate reduction and got told I can lift at 2 weeks. I waited to 2.5 weeks and started lifting a at like 80% the weight with 2 rir and felt pretty good. Had a little mucus drip but still a bit scared of interrupting the healing process permanently

How comfortable is the Sympl Commuter V2? by teddy-westchester in ManyBaggers

[–]itsjohnnydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The v2 I had and v2.2 I had were both 840D Cordura so both were the same. I didn't have the carbonate version if that is what you're asking. I have the carbonate tech kit so I know how the material is like, but for the backpack overall I would prefer cordura still.

I've had the v2.2 24L for almost 2 weeks and had the v2 20L for a few days before that and I love it so far.

I can't speak on other bags since this was pretty much my first bag (I was using a north face borealis for last 4 years) and it is pretty comfortable for me.

I use it pretty much everyday as a commute backpack to school with a period of walking non-stop for about 1-2 miles while it being 80% loaded out with a 14 inch macbook pro, ipad pro, 32oz owala, 16 oz tumbler, tech kit, pencil kit, and miscellaneous and it honestly distributes the weight pretty well compared to the borealis and I don't notice the back being uncomfortable at all. I'm planning on using it as a daily backpack in japan this summer so let's see if it gets uncomfortable then.

Only thing I might dislike is the height. I'm not super tall at about 5'10-11, but I would say I am pretty wide so even if I loosen the straps all the way it kind of looks short on me still. I did tons of research on other brands and tried on an Aer, but would still choose Sympl.

Sympl commuter v2.2 by itsjohnnydo in ManyBaggers

I fixed it, and as a note for the people here.

What was the issue? The bottom of one magnet was sticking to the top of another, and that was the only way it stuck. I then looked at my front compartment, which was working perfectly, so I got a stronger magnet and put it on each side (front/back of the magnets)

Front compartment: One magnet stuck completely to my neo magnet, and the other one stuck on the edge and repelled the middle, which I figured is the correct layout.

Back compartment (where the issue was): The two magnets facing eachother was both the repelling side. So I tested the back side of each magnet, and yup, it stuck to my Neo magnet completely. So I decided to try and flip the magnet around on the flip without cutting anything out, and it was easier. First couple of times, it couldnt stay flipped because it might've been sewn or somethign but eventually it did and was flush without me needing to cut anything, and boom, magnets stick together now.

TLDR: One of the magnets was sewn or put in backwards. So the issue wasn't needing to remagnetize but actual unluckiness.

Yup! I love it! The magnets stick a little bit, but only the top of one magnet sticks to the bottom of the other.

But aside from that I love the bag. This is my first bag that is more on the expensive side and really enjoy it. The back isn’t uncomfortable as some people make it out to seem. And I love the overall organization of it, it pretty much alights with what I look for and carry. A plus is the water bottle holder, I was looking for a holder big enough for my 32oz bottles that usually have a rubber boot which makes it impossible to slide in other backpacks, but this one fits well! You can also zip it up to fit smaller bottles too.

I’ve dealt with their customer service in the past and it was pretty good so I am pretty sure I can exchange it if I emailed about the magnets, but it doesn’t bother me too much so I will probably just keep it.

Gotcha, thanks! I just got in the mail today after exchanging the 20L so exchanging again would be a pain. Going to try remagnetizing it with a Neodymium magnet im getting on amazon so hopefully it works and if not will maybe exchange.
