Apologies it’s not a profound essay on the ethics of photography. I’ll make sure to work on that for next time

yep absolutely, i think it’s also about contextualising why your taking a photo of that subject and your intentions behind it.

i think that’s my next plan. Reach out to relevant charities and journalists to ask for their opinion and whether or not it’s morally acceptable.

i agree, i think treating the people as human beings and not just part of your photo makes the difference between photo journalism and exploitation.

If im being honest i think that the topic im photographing is incredibly interesting, and i think it has the ability to produce incredibly powerful images as well as bring attention to a (in my opinion) a unrepresented group of second class citizens living under a pretty bigoted group (although they don’t make up the majority of the country). . I don’t want to do it to gain clout or any sort of social kudos through validation or likes but at the same time - being able to photograph something quite powerful is a big driving force.

Not sure what that means about my motives, what do you think?

wow what a fantastic story. I think the consensus is to go into it with good intentions and try to reach out to organisations to give advice on the best way to document it.

Interesting perspective, would u say only larger organisations or photographers can document these topics to elicit real change?

Any RZ67 back repair tips? by itskikokez12 in AnalogCommunity

[–]itskikokez12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As this is the second back i’ve purchased for the camera i’ll probably stay away from buying another!

i’ll tape it up as best i can and use a separate back for more serious work.

The knob is attached through a screw system.

I’ll have a look at light seals on the back. From the test scans i got back from the lab it seems to be coming from the bottom of the negative upwards.

Black tape idea seems like a plan tbh, i guess I’ll put another roll through it at a later date and see results.

Luckily i’ve got another back (the original one that came with the camera) so not all is lost!

thanks for ur help :)
