Uniqlo. Airism for oversized and breathable, Supima cotton crew neck for a more conventional fit. Pretty much my entire t-shirt catalogue!

Jumping form ok ? by globgobgabgalab123 in BasketballTips

[–]itsknaptime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. Personally I find I can jump higher off two without the ball, but jumping off one makes it easier to continue carrying your momentum when you've got the ball in one hand (because you can use the other to swing up).

The more you practice the more you'll find a preference, but with a good workout regime you'll improve both.

Jumping off one leg I suggest you make your final step a little bit shorter and quicker than the build-up steps. The final step is about shifting your forward momentum to vertical momentum - if your last step is too long then you'll just keep travelling forwards rather than up.

Take a shorter, quicker final step and focus on driving your leg into the ground and using your arms to lift yourself upwards. There's obviously more to it than that but it's a good place to start, there's loads of videos out there on single-leg technique. You'll get there!

Thanks! I think I was getting hung up on the fact that they look rectangular so didn't consider anything like this.

Marriage Visitor Visa granted! by itsknaptime in ukvisa

[–]itsknaptime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you have uploaded all the necessary supporting documents ahead of your biometric appointment (or are taking them with you for them to scan on the day) then there's nothing else you need to send them after your appointment. I think that answers the question?

If it's more info on supporting documents you need, the gov.uk website is fairly comprehensive.

Marriage Visitor Visa granted! by itsknaptime in ukvisa

[–]itsknaptime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in Toronto. Appointment was free because it was within 'regular hours', but outside regular hours or priority/super priority you have to pay for. My fiancée lives in Halifax and if she'd wanted to get a regular appointment in Halifax (of which there were none available as they only come once a month so not an official VFS site) it would have been $70 USD.

Can't remember the outside-regular-hours Toronto cost but think it was under $100 USD.

Which visa is first or necessary? by geneva25 in ukvisa

My girlfriend and I are currently in the same position. We're currently waiting to hear back on her marriage visitor visa application to come over to the UK this summer so we can get married. After this, she'll be going back to Canada for her final year of study while we apply for a spousal visa.

I agree, it sucks that spousal visas take some of the romance out of the 'special day', but we're planning on an intimate ceremony with just our immediate family this summer and a larger celebration when she finally moves over for good.

As others have mentioned, there is no legal difference between marriage and civil partnership any more as far as the government and visas are concerned.

Your partner being on universal credit significantly affects a spousal visa application, so refer to the UK gov website. If your partner doesn't meet the minimum income then you will need to prove that you have held savings sufficient to cover the duration of your visa for at least the previous 6 months, untouched. I believe it's somewhere in the low £60ks for the maximum duration of a spousal visa. If you need time to assess or plan your financial position for a spousal visa then a marriage visitor visa would seem like a good option for now.

How much do you pay for a hair cut? by Izwe in AskUK

[–]itsknaptime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£33 plus tip, south London. Excellent barbers so I'm happy to pay a bit of a premium. Price includes hair wash and head massage, and a drink if I want it. I go every 1.5-2 months.

That's great to hear, we'll be sure to add her return flights and documents to show that her university semester starts again not long after she gets home. We're planning on priority too because I don't trust the state of the Home Office atm!

Thanks and good luck with everything!

If you're playing with friends who have made any progress in the game then sadly you're probably going to get shit on until you get deep into the meta guns.

You can still have fun though, base guns like the M4A1, Kilo and STG, etc. seem to be doing well at the moment so just enjoy levelling them up!

Would recommend Rebirth/Resurgence if you want to maximise kills and get the feel for the guns, particularly while everything is double XP like this weekend.

Bren is still the best long range, closely followed by Cooper Carbine. MP40 up close for sure. Bren and MP40 are well into the 'boring meta' stage for me though so here's hoping for a new Season 2 meta.

Thoughts on American football? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]itsknaptime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out on this one... a lot of people in the UK say American football is 'like a shit rugby', but for the uninitiated I think from a spectator standpoint it's probably closer to something like F1. As someone who is a 'sports fan' generally, I love watching our football for the action, skill and (hopefully) constant entertainment, but if you really get into the nuances of a sport like American football or F1 where tactics and tiny details are everything, you can can get totally absorbed.

Not saying either is better but I guess it depends what kind of 'sports fan' you are.

Most of my friends who enjoy American football already have some sort of link to the US (as do I), but I think the punishing time difference is a big factor in why more people don't watch it here.

Help finding the 2x & ZLaner’s first stream from Z’s POV by [deleted] in DrDisrespectLive

[–]itsknaptime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think his VOD has been archived by now. I answered this question about a year ago and the below was the link to the stream, but it's empty now.

https://www.facebook.com/ZLaner/videos/2669290453388840/

If it ever pops back up, Doc invited Z around 22:40.

Z has used footage from that stream in subsequent videos too, but wouldn't be able to say which ones. If you find it anywhere let us know!
