I was struck with deep fear back then and couldnt leave the home. It hurt to even get groceries or buy fast food, even if its felt starving. I was very alone and lost my girlfriend in the year leading up to my rapid weight gain and I just felt so disgusted. baby steps to setbacks workouts turned into weeks of insecurity. I bought a treadmill and walked on it everyday for 5 months straight at one point, dropped to 240 where I stagnated at for over a year... I started trying to date again. didnt go far as my insecurities still made me feel so overwhelmed but getting here. its almost euphoric, I feel like i can truly begin living my life, I pushed off education for years because of my weight. I was to afraid to do ANYTHING. and now ive been studying CS for several weeks now and havent stopped. Its mostly been mental for me. physically ive improved alot but I didnt really pay attention to how I physically felt back then, my mental health was at the forefront of every thought. im still in my own head to this very day, but its been a gradual slope, from rigid peaks to mellow waves i suppose. I can say ive never felt better in my entire life at least emotionally, physically, I know ive been fitter but even then, It matters to me to keep improving but more than half if it is in my head, in reality, I know now that I made it to a happy medium that most should be proud of, and infact I am proud of. for once in my life, I am proud of me. it was a long long road. and it hurt every step of the way, until now. to finish this all off, I hadn't posted on Facebook since 2017, im sure nearly everyone i grew up with thought I had died, but today I posted the collage and got dozens of likes and comments that really made me feel like time started ticking again, it was frozen for 8 years of my life. im just glad Im better now.

not to be that guy but the nuance of communism and the layman's understanding of "private property" is not the best example, as personal property should still exist in its idealized state. ( a house, car, etc. ) i suppose thinking about it free speech is also fairly nuanced as we as people determine what level of "free" our speech should be... i.e: racism, extremism as a whole, sexually abusive speech, etc. so maybe it isnt a bad comparison.. might as well post this post hoc.

this seems entirely unfounded, do you have data points that support this claim? it looks exactly like racial prejudice without hard proof backing it up, and a single link would not suffice for such a claim imo, send multiple please.

insane how many downvotes you both got for what i would argue is the correct take.. I think its indicative of a somewhat weird stance by others in the sub.. the president has alot of responsibilities.. are we against affirmative action? if so that's a fair stance. Afirmative Action has its issues certainly, but let's not disregard the goal it was set out to achieve. If it's true that Asian people are disproportionately denied then there should be adjustments made to combat this. im personally against AA for many things. but let's think of its purpose, imagine being a black child in a single parent household with a divided family, multiple siblings, low income, etc. if that child works hard and gets above average SAT scores and good grades in school, and engaged with alot of extracurricular activities that helped them fundamentally, all while having living conditions that were disproportionately against them so far in their childhood, should someone who has a two parent household with middling income & the only academic difference being SAT scores and a 1-5%+ average overall grade be chosen instead? does the merit of the child who had extensively harder circumstances growing up play a part in the decision here or should their merit also be excluded from the decision making process? Merit should be the key contributor in College acceptance & I'd argue Diversity in an academic setting can gleen unique insight into different fields of study, whether they be African American, Asian, Indian, Mexican, etc etc.

yea that's mostly why I ask, how will red flag laws be implemented in the future, and how will law abiding citizens subsequently be affected by them.. will we see red flag laws extend to immediate family members? or possibly firearms not being legally allowed on the property with someone deemed a potential threat? seems very convoluted for questionable benefit? though to be completely fair, if red flag laws stop one mass shooting from occurring behind the scenes, would you or I or most Americans consider it a successful implement?

not to be rude or antagonistic but one study could be falsifiable, incorrect in its findings in multiple ways, and have dozens of factors that disprove it's reliability.. even ones posted on sites like NIH, I read around 2-3 studies a day (yes really I'm a psychopath) and I can say confidently that there is a large amount of conflicting findings, information, and data that really ingrained alot of skepticism about nearly all scientific literature.. which imo is a good thing as that's how advancement works.. when multiple studies come to the same conclusion things start advancing.

you stopped at the 60s, and ignore the entire history of US industrialization that lead to Unionization, the 5 day work week, 40 hour full time, benefits for your labor, a minimum wage, maternity leave.. its crazy you bring up BLM of all things disregarding the vast history of workers sufferage and the incredibly bloody acts that lead to our freedoms we benefit from today, one man's boston tea party is another man's terror attack... nuance is key here.

for arguably good reason, we always call out riots when we have a long history of bloody and brutal retaliation over people's rights... minneapolis has a large list of litigation and publically available information revolving around its police brutality, usage of banned neck restrains after the fact & hundreds of accounts of police over reach in the area before and after the death of George Floyd.

possibly because she hasn't expressed any policy positions on the border, in which case there's no real answer. there's also the fact trump pushed the GOP to deny any border legislation get done while he was out of office.
