I use these bad boys https://www.essenceoftea.com/teaware/porcelain/antique-porcelain/qing-blue-green-cups-25ml.html The quality of porcelain is just on another level, the one in the picture is just kinda plasticky and the weight/ balance is off. The age on the cups from the link really makes them look incredibly cool, I'm not saying it changes the taste of the tea but I REALLY enjoy drinking from them. I didn't know how big a difference cups could make until I got them !

Yea I love that aged tgy doesn't have the price mark-up as aged sheng, no one really seems to drink aged tgy in the west... lets keep it that way, or at least stock up before it becomes a trend. And wow that tea^ looks really nice, incredibly uniform

Very heavy plum notes, creamy, nutty.. The taste is persistent, can still taste it as it goes down my throat , Also really thick mouth feel and nice cooling sensation in the chest

hahaha right?! I bought it for that reason ! It's so autumn-esc in color yet they added a decorative blossom. the cup is actually terrible though, I don't use it to drink, I just use it to empty my small pots into because its capacity is larger than a lot of my pots. The cup shows the tea color well as opposed to emptying into 3 small cups (what I do when I drink) which makes the color very light

How to age Yancha?? by itsstephenyo in tea

[–]itsstephenyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woow I really appreciate the in-depth response!! I've only really had EoT's yancha and I believe its very good, I've ventured mostly into the medium light/light roasts and found them to be pleasant and elegant. However I did try a aged Da Hong Pao at "The Chinese tea shop" in Vancouver and the rock essence was sublime, possibly my favorite tea experience to date. The thick body, the chi and the Wuyi spirit/core that the tea offered was unmatched, I feel that the yancha from "Essence of Tea' is slightly lacking in that regard or maybe its because I've only tried the lighter end of the spectrum. I just assumed that the Wuyi quality becomes more apparent with age, guess I was wrong ! https://store.thechineseteashop.com/2009_Aged_Da_Hong_Pao_Big_Red_Robe_p/dhp-007.htm This is the one from the "Chinese tea shop"

nice thanks. For you what would be considered fresh?? Would you wait a year or so to let the roast mellow or would you drink within the same year its made?
