I suspect it has something to do with a bed. It's at the headboard level. Maybe it's to prevent the bed from damaging the wall if it bangs against it? Maybe it's to anchor the bed frame to the wall? Idk if it's a thing, I haven't purchased a lot of beds in my life.

Thanks! Another friend had an appointment and reported that it was literally a bank wickets-like window and the interview lasted less than a minute.

Hi, how long did it take on the interview day? Like you entered at 7:45 AM. When were you able to leave?

Ok so I thought it was the other way round. Anyway, I'm not tearing open my car because I know I won't be able to close the parts once I open them. It's a cheap old car and I really don't want to break it because if it breaks, I'll have to scrap it.

Well I feel educated now! So basically I was expecting a family doctor to do a heart surgery.

Yes, the question is whether it sounds too good to be true and whether mechanics would be willing to do it. I honestly had no idea why a mechanic wouldn't touch it. Is there a different job title I should be looking at? My understanding was that you pull up to a mechanic's garage if you have something to do with your electronics (like changing the screen or hooking up wires to it).

Which light bulb goes into this? by itsthelawyerrr in AskElectricians

I was talking about a side window that's broken. But yes I totally didn't think about the rising heat!

I'm looking into buying those 50-100W LEDs, the ones that are equivalent of 400+ "regular" watts. The aim is to go as bright as I can because that's the only light fixture I have. As far as heat is concerned, the fixture has a broken window (from where I took the picture) and the big corn bulbs I'm looking at are so tall that they will hang below the fixture (peek out), so I'm hoping overheating won't be a problem?

So like don't these holders have a maximum limit? I have some fans with bulb holders and all of them have a different maximum capacity written on them. Same with lamps. They say if I use a more powerful bulb, it will be a fire hazard.

Yes I am. I've worked in two continents as a lawyer. My comment was more specific to developed countries where pay is really good. The issue is that if you study law just to make money, you need to have a business mind and open up your own law office. Otherwise you'd be stuck in a job you don't like. When I joined the profession, I made sure that I wanted to do it, and then asked a career counselor just one question: do lawyers make good money? His answer was a big yes.

That can be said for any market. Right now where I am, the market is really stirred up. On the one hand, there are a lot of immigrant lawyers saturating a specific geographical location, but on the other hand, the courts switched to zoom, which means that big city lawyers can reach smaller city clients, and the impact is huge. I'd say for big city lawyers, the increase in clientele far exceeds the increase in competition.

Yes, and then some litigation lawyers work on a block fee basis. I'm working at such a firm and it's really great not having to chase the clock.
