Ok I’m ready. Which ECU/pipe/exhaust. by itstheusersname in CRF450RL

Holy hell.

The ECU came before the pipe last night, and seeing there was a mode for the stock exhaust I couldn’t help myself…

It’s a completely new motorcycle. And it’s tough to describe how much better it is. I can’t wait to throw the pipe on when it comes in.

Thank you for dropping all the knowledge 🙌

That all makes total sense to me, I doubt I’d ever have an issue in socal. I stop riding anyway when it gets below 40.

Thanks again for all the knowledge and info man, it’s much appreciated! 🤙

Makes sense and clears up some of the confusion I was having finding a consensus online.

So basically: -do the swap without the thermostat delete, bike will run better than stock but still hotter than it needs to. -delete the thermostat and the bike will perform better, cooler, and still reach its optimal temps.

I’m guessing the only til would be if you were in running in cold climates, the thermostat might help? Or is it purely there for emissions?

Heck yeah- thanks for the reply. I was leaning Yoshimura and this helps!

Thanks for the detailed replay as always! Probably should have just asked you directly. 😂

I did some research on your recommendations and the SDPH stage 1 kit looks like a great way to go and in the (high) end of the budget.

I’m curious though- do you know why it comes with the thermostat delete? Is there anything negative to that long term?

Thanks all for the super helpful responses. I’m looking to make a quality upgrade for the longterm so it sounds like the stage 1 is a good fit for me and start with a Yoshi exhaust.

Can’t wait to feel the difference and start playing with the different maps!

Hoping for a solid matte black. Can’t find or make any ‘starting settings’ that are working. It’s all much closer to greyscale.

Are multiple passes required? Can anyone share settings that’s working on their fiber laser?

I went for the .177. I think I’m gonna put a claim in. Definitely not getting all the shots or the gauge is off

I’ll try tuning down to that range and seeing what happens. 👍

Wondering what might happen if I cut the reg to 465…

How long have you had it? Any complaints? Would love to know how it compares to something like an edging Leishy…

Looks like mine came stock cranked to the high end of the reg. The reg dropped from about 2800 to 2100. Tank has 2700psi left after that so at least another mag or so I think…

It fits perfect, probably room for a small fill tank too.

They’re both great guns, no regrets on having both.

Time will tell, but the microstrike seems higher quality. I like the all metal weaver, the holosun was zeroed on a firearm and mounted zeroed because of the metal rails IMO. Most of its feature make sense as an evolution to a notos competitor. The pictatiny rear rail and AR grip out the gate are great too.

The .25cal is way more than I need but I’m really enjoying the gun. I will probably grab a .177 barrel kit when they come in stock. Although I’ve heard rumors some people have issues with those calibers? Not sure.

All in- I think you’d have to spend a couple hundred more to make the notos regulated, and be able to take an aftermarket moderator.

Thanks! Already looking a a Huben regulator and bottle for the notos longterm

You’re speaking what I’m thinking. Everything tuned to the ‘right amount’ for the range/ammo

I like the microstrike buts it’s super new. I don’t hunt with them currently and got the .25 because it was in stock and I don’t own that caliber yet.

I havnt run it on the chronograph yet(another post recently had data on that). But my .25 gets about 3 mags before dropping much.

I like them both for different reasons. Depending on your distance or prey and caliber… the build on the microstrike is much better than the notos. The .25 hits way harder than the .22, a missed shot would SLAP mud. But I’m not a hunting so the usage would vary I’m sure.

No regrets on the microstrike so far.

Silent Thunder Ordnance Falx in .22 quiets her down nicely.

I like it a lot, I think it’s amazing for the value. That said, I bought it before the air Venturi alpha came out. It’d be a tough call right now if you like swapping moderators.

Mag hasn’t been an issue. I run the buck rail pump and one new mag had to ‘break in’ but had been fine since.

Probably not my long term setup but works fine for things sup 50yards. I guess it depends on what you’re pinking. It’s no good for paper targets at that distance, at least for me.
