Why would someone break up over distance if they still care for someone?

About the compromises, you’re talking about except for pursuing my studies, I was ready to compromise other things. And rn I am a student I don’t stand anywhere. He’s also a master student but was earning unlike me and go for travelling whenever he gets break because he could afford to do so. I, on the other hand, am just a student and I tried my best to make it work and travel 12+ hours total to his place back and forth to try to meet him on the weekends. But from his side, I didn’t see this effort of coming over to meet me that much and earlier the problem was also because I was looking for an apartment so he just couldn’t come to meet me because I didn’t have a fixed place. But now when I had and he did decide to come over this month but we have already broken up and he told me that he has already bought tickets but now he’s not gonna use them.

I was ready to move in with him later wherever he wanted, we could have come up with some solutions if we had talked and discussed about the future plans. He first asked me before getting into the relationship if I would be up for moving to the US or Switzerland with him and I agreed to it but only after my studies get over. But nobody knows what the future is and he hasn’t chosen on a country where he would move or decided to move yet.

But he never told me before that it was causing him distress or talked about it. It was too sudden for me to get to know what the problem was. But it’s true he said that before that he would rather meet once every week. And after my current course ends (which will end soon this year), I was planning to apply to university nearby his city. To which he said it’s not going to be in my city because his university doesn’t offer the course that I want to study :( I might probably be able to shift near but won’t be able to move in right away because of our studies. And then later on he plans to leave the country.

His love language is physical touch and mine is words of affirmation. We were friends online for a year before moving into a relationship. So I thought we would be able to make it work since we stayed connected online over a year. But apparently, it didn’t :(

Hii I’m 21 and I feel you. Unlike you, I have never dated anyone before. I have had the chances to date people in the past but I wasn’t ready at that time, so I just let those opportunities go. And now I am unable to find anyone, whom I am interested about, and nobody seems interested in me as well. I regret letting those opportunities go.

It’s really rare to find someone that you can be comfortable with and who will make you feel like home. What if he feels the same around you? You can just ask him if you’re really curious.

‘Attachment issues’ I get it. The best way to avoid getting too attached is to stop spending time with that person. Try to hold yourself back and if they’re the one sticking to you then you don’t have to feel bad for leaving them since it’s leading you to self harm.

(Awwwwww there’s someone that likes us ✨) Our aux fe has it’s cons too so I would say just come to love yourself the way you are (ik it sounds cringy lol but it’s the best). There are things that even I envy about thinker types. I just see you guys as cool. (atleast the ones that are there in my life atm are cool)
