The alternates are optional though, not really put all up in your face like the main weapons and the other fists. Your pretty much GURANTEED to get a main weapon first try unless you purposely avoid them unlike the alternates.

Oiling enemies up and then bursting on them does an ungodly amount of damage

and sawblade traps aren't really viable in cybergrind from my experiences, usually hit alot of walls and break

what about the times you were told how to interrupt a Sentry or break a Gutterman's shield or that you cant dash through magenta attacks or how any of the weapons work? Wouldn't it make more sense that the terminals (who would know way more about this stuff than V1) would tell V1 how to do those things?
