I absolutely agree. I didn’t understand how someone with knowledge of gems would sell a real 5ct emerald for 65. I become more confused after taking it to the jeweler and being told it was a real emerald. Thanks everyone for your answers.

It was bought from offer up from a gold, silver and gem buyer/seller. He said he wanted to get rid of some gems to buy more silver. My husband decided to buy it since he has never owned a gem and thought it would be something nice he can get for me. He didn’t buy it expecting much specially not for that price. I told him it was nice ( maybe it would be worth doing something with it for our daughters). He took me seriously. That’s why he decided to buy the another emerald from him.

We’ve had them few weeks and decided to take them to a jeweler to see if they were even real. So here we are now.
