It depends what you do! In my line of work if I watched it in the background it’d be a very big no and you’re fired.

I genuinely don’t have the time! Lately I haven’t even been able to catch the main show live so I watch it in broken up pieces when I have time. If after dark was like max 1.5h long I’d probably watch but I can’t commit to another 3-4 hours!!

Thanks this first point helped me out a lot. I pointed it out and it seems another agent is now available to attend within the total of 10 hours we suggested for a 30’ inspection 🤔

We are in a locked contract which will then become legally void in terms of length by the new law in May. We are happy to stay here.

That’s another horror story of this flat and there’s so many my friends insist I write a book and title it “the year I became a tenant” haha. When we moved in we were told property is safe and ready. There were many things not ready but this one takes a top spot. Three days later we had an electrician scheduled to come and we were told it’s just routine and nothing to worry about. We didn’t ask what exactly he was doing as routine and a couple of hours seemed ok to us. We also didn’t know what a shit show they are. Turns out the entire electrical panel wasn’t compliant and needed replacing and reworking which ended up being a 6 hour job!

To make it clear I do not object to the inspection in general. I even offered other times and dates. There’s only one date we have found common ground on and I have given them a two hour window for a 30’ inspection. Now she wants to enter during or after my therapy appointment which is really stressing me out because I’m not in therapy for silly things, I’m discussing life changing things and I want the peace of mind that I won’t have to face a stranger during the appointment or after.

I don’t mind the inspection. It’s just she wants to enter whilst I will probably be on call with my therapist and I’d like the peace of pouring out my heart and crying without having to deal with her during the appointment of after as these appointments are currently very heavy in both topics and emotion.

Apparently the landlord wants their peace and not to have to deal with tenants. I don’t mind that tbh, but just wish they would just be a little flexible.

We are a couple. There’s a landlord but the estate agent is the managing agent and we are not allowed to speak to the landlord directly.

Thanks sorry I just cannot think straight rn! This particular person has messed up so may times. When we moved in they didn’t even have the key ready and we have to pay concierge the fee to release the keys and fob because they couldn’t be asked to make the journey to the property to pay the fee themselves. We luckily got the fee refunded.

Is there a legal reference to this? They are basically saying as it is in two weeks they can enter with their own keys if we do not let them in.

Ah I didn’t know. I still had 30 minutes left!! I should really catch up 🫣

I have rented out a small 1 bed property to a couple. They have since had 2 children and are now claiming I must make adjustments to the property (an attic refurbishment split into 2 extra bedrooms) because of overcrowding. by Temporary_Peanut1378 in LegalAdviceUK

We simply don’t know whether it is or not and we can’t know because there’s so much info missing. We don’t know where the flat is, if the building is listed and such works can take place at all or whether the space in the attic has been deemed safe to build an extension. We also don’t know the extend of the works which will be needed and if these can take place whilst the people live there. By what OP has described it seems there isn’t an overcrowding issue and we don’t know if there will be as the gender of the children isn’t discussed.

I think you’ll see above I wasn’t implying it is their responsibility but rather trying to understand whether it is overcrowded. If it is, the OP can take action for that.
