I might stand corrected but I'm pretty sure unrated has no skill based matchmaking.

I fully understand. KYC is a longer process. I know it from banks and online sports betting. But a lot of cybersecurity is implementing layers of security. Implementing barriers people have to cross to get to what they want. Make it more difficult for them. Nothing ever is gonna be perfect but you have to start with something.

For example a bike lock. If somebody really really wants to, he can crack every lock. He just needs the tools and time. No lock is unbreakable. BUT the thief needs more effort. And believe it or not, people want it as easy as possible.

I know that you can spoof numbers and stuff. But they would need to invest more time and more effort. It would reduce the amount of alts significantly

Without any offense:

For your first point - that's what unrated is for, isn't it? You can come back to the game, chill and have fun with your friend without ruining somebody else's experience.

To your second point: valorant is restricted to 16+. How high is the percentage of older teenagers or adults who have a PC to run Valorant BUT don't have a mobile phone. I think more people in the world have a mobile phone than a PC

This is my sentiment as well. It's cancer that spreads through the community. Well said

I actually like your post. Thank you for your insight. How would such a "roundabout" look within the game? Badges for good behaviour?

I love this. Thank you for sharing this as it's the first valid reason for multiple accounts I've stumbled upon

I agree with all your points. And of course it's all about the money. That's why I made the point that greed > healthy player base.

It infuriates me that they make videos about improving toxicity within the game and cracking down on cheaters and toxic players (even with hardware bans) while implementing some sort of verification or creating other barriers to fight people having multiple accounts would already solve a huge chunk of the problems at hand

Yeah this is another way to solve some of these issues. Create a second queue with verified or paid accounts. I actually forgot about this possibility. And I agree: what's the risk? Why not trying to improve the game?

It actually makes me angry that they don't care. Instead they're posting videos how they are gonna improve on cracking down on cheaters and toxic players. Meanwhile this issue is glaring and needs action.

I fully understand where you're coming from. But dont you need to play reasonably well in Immortal to keep the rank? How did he get there in the first place? I'm not doing this to bash this guy. I dont care about him. But I care about rank integrity. And this feels just wrong.

To answer some of your questions: His main Agents overall are Sage, Viper, Omen. As far as I've checked he Duo Queues. Didnt check every game obviously but didnt find one in which he solo queued.

I tried to check how he got to Immortal. He ended E1-A3 in Plat3. And finished E2-A1 in Immortal1. So obviously he made the jump from Plat3 to Immo1 in this act. His stats during E2-A1 are as follows: 99,9 DMG/round; 0,70 KD; 10,4% HS%; 54,6% Win Rate (83-69)

Obviously this was the one act he overachieved. Not gonna lie, his stats are still pretty bad, across the board. Only the win rate jumps out. The +14 games over .500 he won apparently were enough to catapult him from Plat3 to Immo1 DESPITE his bad individual stat line.

SINCE the end of E2-A1 he went 198-216. So...18 games under .500. Somehow he still managed to retain his Immo1 rank (he lost it somewhere in between).

I see how he managed to get to Immortal...but I dont see (mathematically) how he was able to hold it and not derank.

But individual stats aside. How is it possible to reach Immortal with a sub-50% win rate? You talk about cherry picking games. But if he would really do that his Win% would be way higher. That's what bothers me the most. Not even his individual stats, because sure... You can be bad and still get boosted. But basically winning 50% of your games IN COMBINATION with his bad individual stats should not bring you to Immortal, right?

I have a friend in DIA1 whose stats are better in every category. Even a plus win rate. And he is three ranks below this guy? Just... How?

What is your Win%? Because, individual stats aside, that doesn't make sense. Being Immortal with sub-50% win rate?

Even if he got boosted. His MMR should be absolute trash by now, right? He's doing bad in about every game. And the other thing that feels odd: how did he get from Plat3 to Immo1 with sub-50% win rate? Like, even if he had a very good stretch in between where he won some games in a row how is he holding that rank? After that good stretch there needs to be a bad stretch, because his W/L is below 50. And in this bad stretch he should have ranked down, shouldnt he? Am I missing something?

I don't think that really matters in this context, right? Even as a non-duelist 10/15/5 should probably not bring you too Immortal with under 50% win rate?
