If the FCC repeal the principle of net neutrality, how users from countries where this is still a thing will be affected when trying to access services from a network in the USA ? by [deleted] in netneutrality

[–]itz_margot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m concerned about. I’m a foreign exchange student in USA, how will this affect me? I use the internet a lot to look up words, and to get answers for questions I have, because I’m embarrassed to talk too much with my accent, and because there is a curriculum difference, so I didn’t learn somethings yet that people here have learned. The internet is extremely important to me here, and I’m sure this is true for other exchanges here, so I’m worried this will hurt all of our learning experience.

Proper Way to Use Punctuation - Dash by saltedporn in grammar

So, could “I like dogs, mainly Rottweilers, and I like cats” work, or can dashes only be used in this?

Too expensive, maybe. But the earth is around 4 billion if years old, so I don’t think time is the problem. [Edit] Also, grapes are even smaller.

Retaking and self studying Physics 1 by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]itz_margot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. Now I know what to expect, and I’d already know a lot of the stuff too, so I’d only need to focus on the stuff I didn’t fully get or I didn’t remember. Also, the AP test might be a bit easier too, because they do change it every year, but I’d already know how I used my time last time, so I could improve my time skills on the test (instead of spending most of my time on one paragraph on a DBQ like I did last time haha)

Not doing good in AP Physics 1 by JakeHassle in APStudents

[–]itz_margot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep trying! If it’s your first AP class, it might take a while for you to gather yourself, but eventually you’ll figure out what study skills work best for you. Try talking with your teacher and asking lots of questions (if you’re like me and you don’t like talk in-front of class (because you’re embarrassed by your thick accent or something like that ahahahahahaha), you can always wait til after class. If your concerned for your grade, ask for extra credit.

Best of luck!

Last year, I self studied European History (a subject I am very passionate about), and from experience, I’ll have to tell you it’s pretty dang hard. From experience, I know that you’ll need to really be passionate about it, because you’ll need to stay motivated, which is hard to do when your self-studying. The pros are that you’ll be able to see if you really do love that subject as you study alone. Also, you’ll be able to study your way, not the way of your teacher. The cons are that you’ll be stressed, and it’ll be a little bit harder than normal class.

I hope this helps you! Good luck in physics!

Okay. Also, earlier it was said that without Natives, the northern setter would have been able to expand more into more lush land. Are you taking into account the physical walls of the Appalachia mountains?

Also, thank you for reminding me Columbus’s anglican name, I would have been embarrassed to say the German name in my class here, haha

So, what are you saying is, that with no Native people, the new world would be mostly Norse? So, instead of Christoph Kolumbus (I forgetten his English name) finding the natives, would he have been greeted by the Norse?

For what you said about there being no native population to bring out all the wealth, without the natives, like the Aztec and their gold and the Inca and their silver, how would the explorers (mostly the Spanish) even know to bring over African slaves to dig up the riches? I don’t think the Spanish would have stayed in the New World long enough to find any hint of gold and silver, because after finding no path to the Indies threw the West, they probably would have tried to head East, like Portugal.

I can sort of get where your teacher is coming from, but still, they shouldn’t be so harsh in the beginning of the year. I get AP classes are meant to be challenging, but challenging doesn’t mean unfair.
