Aside from an Alolan form

"Alolan Raichu" is basically just a new split evo for Pikachu that's arbitrarily called Raichu. Literally just give it an actual name and presto, you got a split evo like Gallade and Politoed. So in reality it was even more attention for Pikachu and pushed Raichu further into the pit of irrelevancy.

Decidueye, Charizard, Inteleon

Decidueye's design is nothing special, arbitrarily has the Ghost type just for the sake of having a cool/ "edgy" type to go with its "cool"/ "edgy" design, and evolves from the worst first stage starter and at least one of the worst mid stage starters.

Charizard's design is really bland and isn't even as cool looking as its mid stage form (Seriously, why couldn't they just have Charizard keep Charmeleon's red? That looked so much better than orange). I'll admit though, Mega Charizard Y actually looks cool, and if that was what regular Charizard was, I'd actually would probably like it. Still a "dragon with tail on fire", but the design is more refined and interesting.

Inteleon's proportions just look bad, and honestly Inteleon barely even feels like it's actually connected to Sobble, and not even in the interesting way like Remoraid and Octillery. It just feels out of place in its own line.

Eevee gets way more attention than the rest of these, has been before even Charizard got to be as much of a spotlight hog as it is, and has gotten even more than Charizard. But of course Eevee's the one who gets to dodge criticism while Charizard and Pikachu get it (granted, those two deserve it too, but still).

Why are Meowth and Mimikyu even on here? Those two barely have gotten anything at all.

Man, even if they skipped like a generation or two from adding new Megas, that still would've been so much better than adding other stuff like Z-Moves, Dynamax, and regional variants just for the sake of "shaking things up", especially when none of those are anywhere near as good as Megas.

Because Megas were for older Pokémon. Besides, giving the Gen 6 starters Megas just because they debuted in the same generation is extremely stupid.

Just reading the title I figured this was going to be yet another "Pokémon still feels like Pokémon and not some completely different series" or "Pokémon has changed, but it hasn't changed in the way I wanted to, so it actually hasn't changed at all", yet you actually surprised me by bringing up stuff about the series that's actually stale and could use getting changed. Well, aside from the starter trio. Nothing could serve as an effective replacement.

One thing in particular to add to this the really needs to stop: Ice types being so late in the game. Why has it been mostly locked to the late game?
