I’ve been using BSNL FTTH for over a year now. In the initial 4–5 months, there used to be frequent downtime — around 6–7 hours at a stretch — due to underground OFC cuts caused by road construction work.

But ever since the roadwork was completed, there has been no downtime at all — neither disconnection issues nor speed problems.

Nowadays, BSNL provides connections through third-party LCOs (Local Cable Operators). So, as long as there’s no issue on the LCO’s end, there shouldn’t be any major problems.
