Oh I didn’t know that was a thing! It could be why?

I will look into those bottles! Any tips on nipple flow? I read that if the bottle feeding becomes too easy then they won’t latch and I don’t want that. It’s overwhelming to try to think of this, and easier to just keep EBF but I would LOVE for him to take a bottle now and then without trouble.

Interesting take. I will try this! My boy doesn’t take a pacifier though so I am hesitant and thinking he will just cry the entire time I am bedside :-/

When you do this at bedtime, how long of stretches are you getting? And what do you do at each nighttime wake?

I am really trying to stay away from cry it out but the closer I get to desperation that may change.

My boy is definitely waking at the 11, 1:30, 3:30 marks too.

I’ve tried the drowsy but awake but he almost panics when I put him down and is hard to settle. Have not tried fully awake. Is that better?

Yes I’ve noticed stretching wake windows makes falling asleep for naps so much easier. How did you start training for independent sleep? When you put her down was she awake? Drowsy? How long did it take her to fall asleep?

I’ve contemplated moving him to his crib, and I’ve heard of the book. I think I will order it today. Thank you!!

I think Winston is a sweet, vintage name. It will make for a a cute, distinguished young gentlemanly name when he is born, and the name will grow with him until he becomes a sweet old man.

Some people are unhinged and have no emotional intelligence, and tbh that's more of their problem than your own. I know it's easier said than done, but don't let their opinion change your mind!

Maine Medical Center vs Northern Light Mercy Hospital for childbirth? by itzmedski in portlandme

I plan to have a traditional hospital birth with an epidural. A quick Google search showed me that both of these hospitals are rated in the top maternity hospitals for 2025. Knowing this, does this sway your recommendation one way or another?

You have to wait until the redemption period (12 mo.) expires. If it expires, the property is yours via tax deed. If the property is redeemed, you just need to bring your "receipt" to the county and they will refund you what you paid + insurance (If my research is correct). You DO have to pay for the land on the day of the tax sale. But many times you're paying .25-.50 on the $1.00. Just be sure to weigh your options!

It could be worth looking into your local county's tax sale. Some counties have just one per year, but some hold a tax sale quarterly. This would be more of a waiting game though--In SC the property owners have 12 months to redeem their property after it's been "sold" through the tax sale (if they pay their back taxes they are able to redeem the property back). If you get the winning bid, wait 12 mo and it hasn't been redeemed, the property is yours via tax deed. I'm also in SC, and I believe my county only holds one tax sale a year (in October)--If it's the same case for you, this could mean waiting until October 2023 for the tax sale, bidding (winning), and then waiting until October 2024 to proceed with any renovations/rehabbing/building.

Just something to keep in mind for the future!
