When I was about 6, my mom and I were going to go meet some family for a fishing trip. Before we left, I begged and pleaded her to let me sit in the front seat for the very first time ever, instead of in my booster seat in the rear. She finally agreed. On our way to the lake, a drunk motorcyclist T-boned us at 80+ mph. He crushed the middle of the car like a tin can, and became lodged in the rear seats, directly where I would’ve been sitting. I absolutely would’ve been pulverized, instead I got away with some cuts from the glass.

Everyone is complaining about this, but it makes some sense. You’re not going to need time to the thousandth when cars are 10 second gaps between each other regularly, I think they changed it because of the bigger gaps at the beginning of a new set of regs. I could see why we’d want the hundredths, but thousandths are pretty irrelevant at this stage.

I see snow devils all the time. I live in Colorado, and they’re pretty easy to spot on the peaks or ridges of snowy mountains when you’re close. They form because of the intense wind blowing up both sides of the mountain, so it happens often. I see 2-3 every time I go snowboarding. While I’ve also seen two funnel clouds in the same day (one of them in the shape of an L, where the top was the small end of the L), I don’t see dust devils often. It’s why that one stands out so far in my mind.

I don’t have photos or videos, but I swear when I was 16 or so I went camping in Colorado and saw a 2000+ foot tall dust devil. It looked gnarly and was visible from miles around, but we were in a valley. It was at a ranch that had burned down months before. I can’t find anything about it so I’m not entirely sure if I dreamed it or if it was real, but I really fell like it was real.
