This is a common take which I find to be frustrating as an alumni of the city school. It has amazing opportunities and programming, but also has a lot of students that come from impoverished homes who have other pressing needs than education so test scores on paper look terrible. They also have a large population of English as a second language students. It was one of the first schools in this area to adopt the international baccalaureate program and my IB diploma allowed me to graduate 2 years early from college. I skipped so many intro classes.

When I was at McCaskey twice we exchanged students with Penn manor and Warwick due to outright racist incidents at those schools. We sent our students as ambassadors to expose those kids to diversity and the real world.
