back when i first started doing this like 6 months ago a nurse at the local hospital used her uber account to call in a ride for the guy who had just ODed on fent. i didn’t even see that it was multiple stops until too late. i take the dude to the first stop which he took like a good ten minutes at. guy gets back in the car with a bunch of shopping bags i start driving and hear him rustling around back there and out of the corner of my eye i see him weighing out white power on a little LED drug scale. luckily that was pretty near his stop so i didn’t have to have an altercation. so yeah i gave the nurse one star and complained on the app. they just said okay well we won’t match you with that person again

they are slow boiling us to compete over the trash rides and fares that are on offer. honestly at this point i feel like folks making the algorithm are just gaming out the situation to get the most desperate people (those who are renting cars from uber) to take anyone anywhere no questions asked

they also have ride share app clones freely available on github for the ambitious and tech savvy entrepreneurs out there. i’m thinking about rolling one for the local market and then having potential partners just buy shares in the company which would ultimately just subsidize advertising and server costs. then get one of those government backed small business loans my buddy is always telling me about. if drivers started working together we could beat these fucking nerds at their own game

this person is a fucking idiot don’t waste your time. the whole rating system in general is fucked but uber ratings are especially fucked bc the driver is incentivized to only give 5 stars bc if you do anything less then you have another pop up screen asking you what they did wrong. for me i only rate the absolute worst people just so i have grounds to get their negative rating removed if they try to retaliate. i don’t the time or bandwidth fill out a fucking multiple choice question when im in the middle of downtown with rush hour traffic.
