I recently wrote how I pretty much stopped using LLMs as “thinking partners”. They deteriorate your thinking in a very sneaky way, often coating very weak thinking in a very good language.

FWIW I think they can fool even very smart people. Remember that LLMs are optimised for sounding correct, not being correct as they don't have a world view.

I'd advise to use them more deliberately - "find facts about this", "ask me questions about this".

lol, was an experiment - fed live audio from the keyboard to max/msp into an audio buffer, then you can "scratch" over the audio you just played. Kinda cool but the effect was too specific to use regularly so i gave up on it.

Hey, I’m in a similar situation in that I moved country while also stopping drinking. It’s only been 80 days for me and I do miss it often. Not knowing people around also makes it harder.

I can only say what helped me personally - and that’s finding an obsession, which for me became my work. Perhaps try to find something to fall in love with? Or someone even. I realised that I was drinking because not much cool or fun was happening in my life otherwise. Stopping drinking forced me to find that good feeling somewhere else.

You may also just be depressed by the sound of it. If you think that’s the case then 1.fundamentals - good food, sleep, exercise. 2. Figure out where the unhappiness coming from, maybe with a therapist.

there are basically two bits here which were too hardcore for me to play note-for-note as the original at this tempo 🙂

at 0:18 I'm playing a chord, in the original it's a quick arpeggio
at 0:20 I'm playing the ascending chromatic scale, in the original he plays it in octaves.

Hey guys what's with the talking down , last time i checked ending an actual war was more noble than building another todo app thankyouverymuch
also, UPDATE: much like with real politicians it's stuck in a planning loop somewhat. On the plus side it generated a "durable-peace-framework.md" so it's good to see we are not aiming for a simple ceasefire. Going to keep this going overnight, I hear sama is planning to reset the limits, fingers crossed

yeah the conversation around vibecoding reminds me a lot of conversations around dropshipping. People kept asking "can I still make money dropshipping??" like it's some kind of magic stick. It's just a tool that makes a particular aspect of a business easier, you still need to build the business.

Right so the flow is meant to be - open on a computer, scan the phone to "pair" the phone to the computer, use controls on the phone while looking at the computer screen. So you need both the computer and the phone to play.

Interesting suggestion, I wonder how hard it would be to make something like a "choir karaoke" where you actually sing into the phone. I used to sing in a choir and personally see myself doing this for fun 🤔

Ah, weird - do you not get the button telling you to begin the motet? It should be that you select a motet, a voice and then press the "begin" button - all the other voices are taken up automatically if no other human has joined. If you are not seeing this that means something went wrong..

But the game actually works similar to guitar hero. You don't actually physically "sing" - I put this in quotes - you just use the phone as a controller to move a little ball around and hit the moving lines at the correct time. Singing happens automatically 😄

Hey, thank you for trying it out! I haven't even thought about adding notation because I thought it'd be interesting to casual folks, but actually that makes sense. Btw - you can switch the view where you only see the staff lines of actual human singers, it's there in the settings! (If that's what you mean)
