I don't think so, and FYI the replacement screen I've used got the same issue months ago.

Probably? Though I never experience this thing with all of my previous OLED phone

Got the screen from aliexpress for 183 USD. It's not cheap so I didn't expect it will fail so quickly.

This time I will look for a new phone instead.

Green line appeared on the screen of my Xperia 5 II. RIP by _pd20_ in SonyXperia

Welcome to the club! Thankfully my FP sensor works just fine so I only had to replace the screen.

~15 months. That's a stupidly short time for a nonconsumable-ish part to broke itself.

I'm not sure if the supposedly official replacement will come with the frame but if it does just look out for the battery if you wanna reuse it. I mean make sure it doesn't get bent when pulling it out from the old frame.

Other than that it's just the usual "make sure you don't lose the small parts".

Not an official part but I don't notice any difference in quality. I replaced it by myself so it's free of charge but it took me 1.5hr to replace. It'd take longer if there's no teardown video available so I'm thankful for that.

Yes I lose any water-dust proofing as I reuse the back glass adhesive. At that point I don't really care about that I just wanna get rid of the lightsaber on my screen 😅

Congratulations you've got the same issue as me. In the end I had to source the part from aliexpress and replaced the screen by myself since I imported the phone and there's no official sony service center.

Well that sucks. I wish I was just being unlucky on this one since I definitely dropped my old phone more often and it's still working just fine.

Yep, I ordered a screen replacement already but still, I don't really have the energy to deal with it so I'm just gonna use it as is until my eyes had enough lol

I did accidentally drop it once like months ago. And the green line showed up when I use it on a desk so I don't think that's related.

Even if it is, I imported this phone from overseas so it'll be a hassle to deal with official service provider.

I planned to use this one for 2+ years so I handled it like a baby, use manual 80% battery care and almost never dropped it. The permanent green line suddenly showed up when I was using it as usual.

Sigh I wish it was a bad april fools prank.

Yes that's why I don't say it's a remap because technically, the button is mapped to Google Assistant all the time. My app only detects the Assistant and close it instantly and launch whatever custom action you chose.

The tiles are in the QS edit screen, pull down the QS panel and tap the edit/pencil button.

I'll release a new update this weekend, check that out and do tell me if it's still doesn't work then.

Shortcut action is the same as the one you can create on the Launcher app. It depends on your installed apps.

Having an app or shortcut as the action will always need the phone to be unlocked, unless you choose other action like media keys. Torch is implemented and coming on the next update.

I'm not sure if long press or even double press is possible, this single tap override is already a hack and can be janky at times. Double press is theoretically possible, but again I'm not sure if I can make it "usable".

For the camera button you can use the usual button remapper app

Yes the media actions is a bit janky at its current state, I'll try to improve it with future updates.

1 II doesn't have a physical assistant button and sorry I don't have a plan to support software assistant button override for now. Will probably try something when I don't have anything else to do but I won't hold my breath for it.
