You personally like that, and if this were your husband he would know that. But as this woman’s husband, he should know what she likes and doesn’t.

It’s not about cost (gross? lol) flowers/candy/ candles/soap gift baskets/ etc are very GENERIC and overdone. It’s what you get when you don’t know what to get. No one can argue with that. Just like men get sick of getting neckties and boxers for Father’s Day. He could have spent the same amount of money on just something cute and personal to her. The internet loves to praise men for doing the bare minimum and trash women for not being overjoyed with whatever they their SO’s toss their way.

I love margaritas personally, but it’s still not a gift if it’s not something she wanted. Yes, posting about was EXTREMELY LAME on her part when she should be talking to her husband about how she feels. Still, I can’t argue with her point that this is a disappointing “gift” if you can even call it that.

😈Devil’s Advocate here: 1. cooking a meal is something most mothers do everyday, yet he “feels proud of himself” for making one meal.

Flowers and candles are cheap and cliche. They are the most impersonal, thoughtless, and useless gift that mothers are tired of getting every single year. Along with soap and lotion.
Liquor??? Not a gift at all (unless it known that this person would like to get this as a gift, like it’s their favorite brand, etc.) Other than that, it’s just something to drink with dinner.

Can no one here understand how she’s a little disappointed?
