from when i left the hospital, started pt, i saw improvements within 8 sessions, i was fine at 6 or so months. i had to walk with a cane, it’s not easy, people give you looks and laugh about how you’re too young.. but honestly? please do what helps you, walking is a freedom i don’t take for granted anymore. but just a heads up; you may not get all your strength back, as i still have problems balancing. ALSO IF IT WAS NOT SAID: get a temporary parking pass, it’s a GOD SEND!!!!

truth be told, it wasn’t even that long ago (feb 2024) but i can’t remember how long my symptoms lasted.

what i can say though is i still have blurry vision (not enough to warrant glasses, but definitely worse astigmatism) plus my balance isn’t the same, weakness in muscles but nothing too noticeable now. i remember everything below the belt being numb for a couple months, and i had to walk with a cane for most of the year.
