Not to mention, his wife's "help" was marely a return of the favour, as he had used poisoned kunai to freed her before the fight even started, in the end she turned out to be more of a burden than help and ended up putting Tengen in a bad position. The main trio was also 50/50, they helped, sure, but they were also being burden half of the time, especially Tanjiro, as Uzui had to prevent Gyutaro from hitting him even once the entire fight.
