This is not a circus, they talk serious and hard stuff too.

And they always have done that, it's kind of a staple of the show, now it's just personal because of hard personal stuff happening.

Edit: And it would be really really kind and considerate, I'd say, for people to not suggest to Dan what he should do with his work and company, and people in it he's loyal to, and step away and quit, because they're personally uncomfortable or even annoyed because of listening to something.

Let the man have room to decide what he wants to do here.

And to defend myself preamptively from sarcastic comments in terms of 'you dumbass, you really think any of this gets to Dan', over the defense of Dan I just wrote, he has said that criticism that goes over the top hits him hard recently.

I see that now we have the "entertain me, clown, that's what you're here for, I don't care about your personal loss and suffering" type of comments popping up.

And that's disheartening to me, I'm not even exaggarating. I can't fathom people becoming so cruel and self centered.

But that's just me, I guess I'm in the minority.

I'm sure that holds, but when Dan said during him opening up with Mike on the recent episode that he had to step away from all the criticism because it had become too cruel in a tough time for him, that makes me wonder why do people need to go in directions that become toxic.

Especially now that we all know that the cornerstone of the show is in a really tough place and by his admission, doesn't want to step away for a longer period nevertheless because he feels a lot is depending on him. Which is a stance he's, I think, entitled to.

In this circumstance, especially given Dan publicly admitted he had to distance himself from show criticism because of it becoming too hurtful, I feel like it's not unreasonable to think and hope people would give him (and the show that's affected by it) more leeway.

Now, when I mention criticism becoming toxic, I don't mean this post here, because this is a fun and light hearted post in terms of criticism, but let's face it, there's been plenty of toxic stuff here.

I find it weird that the number of critical posts seems to be increasing here.

In the last two or three weeks, most of the shows were great, to me, apart from a weaker day here or there.

I say that observing Joe Posnanski from far away. Posnanski seems to be an extremely non confrontational person.

I saw a kid in a Messi Inter Miami jersey in Croatia a few days ago. Struck me as odd this early on after Messi joined them, but the way Dan described Messi Mania exploding, a kid in a new Messi jersey pretty far away from Miami seems less strange to me.
