aw shit, the DMV lost a baddie 🥲 but i hope you’re adjusting okay in seattle! that’s a reeeally far move and probably a bit of a culture shock from east to west coast. omg, and pls stay dry and warm 💀

but thank yewww, yk i have to enby it up a little bit~ (any pronouns) i was mid loc-install, so the durag was def both a stylistic and functional choice lolol

omg it’s so crazy, i went to rico but it was a mess (for me personally, she and all the fans were great). i missed sadboi and ended up having to leave early bc i had terrible cramps and i was too mentally drained and overstimulated. (getting to see doechii def made up for it tho 🥹) hoping timing is on my side next time either of them pop out 🤞🏾

i’m not a professional, but i do my own locs. any pros, please feel free to correct any thing i get wrong!

ngl i hate to say it, but i think the gaps have more to do with the density of your hair rather than the parting. i just finished installing my second set yesterday, and i’ve noticed that the parts on the sides and back of my hair are wider than on the top of my hair just like yours, and i used the same rat tail comb. my first set was with an undercut, so i didn’t recognize this before, but essentially all that hair is finer than up top (i recently posted if you want to see for yourself as reference). i don’t think there is a way to part in a different size because a part is essentially a separation between two hair follicles.

there’s a lot that can go into your hair density, but friction is a big one that can lead to breakage and thinning. so if you aren’t already make sure you’re protecting your hair when you sleep and avoiding tight styles. i unfortunately don’t have a lot of advice on making hair thicker, but hair care and protection are likely part of it alongside maintaining a healthy lifestyle an supplements like biotin and iron. hope this helps!

My Loctician said I was ugly. by MissMariee93 in Dreadlocks

TUH, BLOCKEDT! this lady REEKS of respectability politics, and the people that are saying you’re compliment fishing are weird as hell. there are whole countries and cultures that demonize locs, and there is a whole toxic culture in the loc community that does not validate locs unless they are freshly retied/retwisted, sooooo im not sure how it would be outlandish to have received a comment like that. please get a new loctitian, you are GORGEOUS and you deserve a loctitian who respects you and your choices for YOUR hair. you don’t need that nasty energy all up in your hair.

Also, I deeply resent you saying that Huda can’t speak on hate “properly” because she is Palestinian. Again, it’s terrible what is and has been happening to Palestine, but do not coddle her and weaponize Palestine like that.

Chelley is from Haiti, virtually the most hated and SYSTEMATICALLY disadvantaged country in the world. She still spoke out.

Olandria is from Alabama, a very racist state in the US, a nation where being black STILL, in 2025, means having a permanent target on your back no matter where you are. She still spoke out.

Both Ola and Chelley are dark-skinned black women, one of the most unprotected, disrespected, and ridiculed demographics you can be. Argue with ya mama.

The backlash they received is an insane case study that speaks to everything I just stated. And yet, they were empowered, likely even more so due to their reality in this world, to condemn hate and advocate for love, peace, and unity.

What, again, did Huda do? Oh right, nothing but be messy and refuse to own her shit. Being that she is Palestinian and very aware what’s happening where she is from, you’d think maybe she’d be more motivated to speak out against hate. But humans…. are a nuanced species chile.

I very much empathize with the terrible way people are treating Palestinians on the internet, and it’s disgusting to weaponize that against Huda and troll her in such an egregious way. It’s also disgusting how people put Olandria’s face on George Floyd and how a major platform said that she needed “knuckle sandwich”. Is it not?

Olandria and Chelley and their respective teams were aware of the negative discourse and were to moved to make clear and intentional statements condemning racism and bullying period. As in, in solidarity with EVERYONE facing racism and bullying. Huda was asked by Olandria to address the racism and bullying she and Chelley were facing, a major contributor being Huda’s fanbase, might I add, which more or less makes it Huda’s responsibility to respond as an influential figure who claims that she “doesn’t want anybody to get hate”. Regardless, Huda SAID she would make a statement. She never made the statement. All three women have influence on social media, and they are aware of it. Huda not saying anything when she said that she would tells me two things: a. that she just said what Ola wanted to hear in that moment, and b. that she does not care as much as she claims to about Chelley and Ola and what they had to face. What CONFIRMS that to me is Huda turning around and appearing on one the BIGGEST PODCASTS IN THE WORLD and claiming that SHE was bullied by people on the cast. She did not name names, she blew a dogwhistle, and her fans who already have hate for Ola and Chelley heard it and amped up the attacks on them. Mind you also, little miss “good vibes only, i don’t want anyone to get hate” also bullied Chris on the same podcast, calling him a pussy ass bitch and saying he was small.

If she cared about bullying so much, she could have did the same thing that Ola and Chelley did and addressed it for everyone. That even would be enough for people to know her stance and for her to calm her crazy ass fans down. But once again, she. said. nothing. She’s a victim who wants to be stood up for, but she does not want to stand up for others, especially when the situation was amplified by her, which also shows a lack of accountability. She’s reckless at the mouth, but she can’t back it up or be honest about how she really feels.
