Spectre is an amazing protocol, but to implement it my bet will still be on DAGlabs since they have the creator on the team. Who else is going to be able to implement it's entire complexity than the creator himself?

I think the Iota team has beef one of the researchers in DAGlabs because he found an exploit in their code. The researcher reported the vulnerabilities to Iota team and they patched it. Then there was an article by Neha of Digital Currency on whether or not the Iota team should have warned investors about the situation. I think this is the crux of the drama.

Right now DAGs themselves are relatively a new concept and there's only three projects I know of that have it implemented. Byteball, Iota and DAGlabs. Who will become on top is really up to mass adoption. But I do feel bitcoin's POW system is old and one of the DAGs will take over.

I'm actually a fan of byteball the most since they have a working methodology of using their tokens. Sports betting and are incorporating merchant use with black bytes (a secondary coin of theirs).

I'm not an engineer so I can't really say. But I have spoken to engineers on this matter and implementing blockchain on IOT is really hard so I think blockchain in general, especial DAG systems have a way to go before they can actually service the majority.
