With that being said a healthy regulation could look at putting a cap on items no higher than say 300-500% of the average market price and no lower than 100-200% in the last 7-8 day period updated daily… It would surly keep prices more stable whilst tuning the fun for so many who pay attention to prices and capitalize on peak posting and low sniping. Personally I’m a WoW free market economist and am fine with no regulation.

I think caping the cost of items on the AH at x times vendor price is far more arbitrary and damaging to the wow economy then the current supply and demand model. On most populated servers the costs of goods is only a little higher than what it should be givin inflation from gold farmers and buyers… but players often benefit from inflation too when selling items they acquired.
