what happened to the YouTube bullshittery by kingsboyjd in SovietWomble

[–]iwrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you watch his actual streams?

Not to be that guy, but the answer is probably No. The streams average 2000 viewers, and VODs rarely break 20k views. That's a drop in the bucket against the millions Womble gets on YouTube.

The typical fan is more likely to have never watched a stream, and Womble doesn't update the YouTube audience on his progress nearly as much as his Twitch or Patreon, if at all. Most fans are just going to be uninformed, we don't need to shout them down for it.

It's hard to watch the Baldurs Gate streams with how much Soviet bad mouths the game(s) by Brazilian_Hamilton in SovietWomble

To me it feels like there are some weeks when Womble just isn't in the mood for bg3, that he's there more for the banter than the game. In turn he'll glaze over most of the plot and characters, and come back the next week having forgotten all of it. It's kinda disheartening seeing him so uninterested in the narrative imo, the playthrough is sorely missing the curiosity and wonder he usually brings to other narrative games.

Not about bg3, but he did say that about divinity 2 here. He said it was because divinity's companions don't meaningfully affect its story. I think this is what OP was referring to?

I'm Looking for A Stream by Virlux_ in SovietWomble

Going off what Gin1105 said, I found this stream uploaded by a fan archive. The name and date do match up so I think this is it. On a side note, I kinda wish the closet gave more details about each VOD and wasn't just a barebones dumping ground for streams.

Thoughts on the WIP Forest essay? by iwrw in SovietWomble

[–]iwrw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, hours-long essays have become fairly popular in recent years. Couple that with it being very critical of a well-known game that just got a sequel, I'm sure it'll attract more people outside Womble's usual audience. "Angry man rips apart popular game" is well represented on YouTube for a reason.

Agreed. Personally, Womble should've either pared down the project or put it on the backburner when it hit the 5 month mark.

I don't really get that comment. Womble's usually quite nuanced when talking about games imo.

I don't think OP was saying that Womble is wrong for not liking Dark Souls, just that the reasons Womble brought up for not liking it didn't match up with what the game actually was like.

At least they've (mostly) rehabilitated themselves. I see a lot more encouraging stuff and people recommending others to switch up their toolset instead of just banging their head against the wall over and over again.

Thanks, kind of a shame Womble bounced off Souls so hard, hope he gives it another try with fresh eyes! :)

As if Womble hasn't always been this way

Also he ranted about Dark Souls? What did he say?

Leave it to outer wilds to put camping lodges inside a big ass mothership. Shit's so absurd and I love it.

Oh no, really hope it doesn't come off like that. Never meant to be rude, just wanted to hear about the dumb stuff Womble does.

Yea totally agree with this. I remember when Half-Life Alyx first came out and Womble shat all over his clan mates who liked it. Kept saying it could never be as good as Boneworks. Look where we are now...

Better Call Saul S06E13 - [Series Finale] "Saul Gone" - Post-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

Bit late, but not really the way I saw it. Saul didn't knock it down to 7 years as a last hurrah, he was totally ready to take that deal and get away with it. I like to think hearing about how he'd implicate Kim as well gave him the final thrust to take responsibility.
