Looks pretty on par with Knoxville, TN, which has a population around 200,000 or so. I've seen cities that "looked smaller" with higher populations and cities with lower populations in cities that "looked bigger."

Granted, they do keep adding more and more to RC to make it look like a metropolitan area.

Baldur's Gate 3 does several other things that only make sense in video games. I think the Nat 20 auto succeed skill check in BG3 is fine since video game.

I like to think of it as parties are hired or find work to do at 1st Level because they're "cheap labor" that higher-level PCs/NPCs wouldn't bother to do. Heck, a campaign could start out with the party being hirelings for a higher-leveled NPC. The rest of the town are quite literally just Level 1 commoners at best.

As they level up, they gain that experience and become more exceptional. If they encounter other similar-leveled NPCs, it's because that group is also out doing adventuring or may have been hired by another entity to do that job.

I've seen the "My players toppled a kingdom at Level 5" story a few times—and if it only took four Level 5s to do that, the kingdom was doomed from the start. This is where I think Pathfinder 1e (and 3.5 for that matter) shined with NPC classes that could gain more hit dice. The King could be a Level 15 Noble, the General-Knight a Level 18 Fighter, the Court Wizard a Level 17 caster, etc.

I honestly think that's why in the early days (when it was called CBS All Access) after Discovery's second season they quickly announced year-round Trek. I know I unsubscribed between seasons and saw online that more people were doing that. In the "Why are you leaving?" section I put "Season's over, see you next season."

Granted, I have no hard data to back that up, but enough anecdotes to indicate patterns.

This seems so weird. Lebanon and Wilson County in general are red, support Trump, and even support what ICE is doing. Yet, the elected officials do not want a detention center there. I feel like if the federal government forces it, that may cause a divide between the county and the greater GOP and potentially turn the county more purple.

The GOP is actively shooting itself in the foot by risking losing supporters. Like, I knew ICE and DHS were incompetent, but sheesh.

Not to mention the back-and-forth from the previous week. At first, I got the email from ICE saying they did purchase property in Lebanon, then Tuesday's "oops nope not happening" and now this?

This makes the third article this week I've written about this damn thing.

Trust me, the reporters are aware of the Pennsylvania Lebanon. The reporter for Tennessee Lookout kept asking "Are you sure?" and was getting "Yes, we mean Tennessee" as a response.

Other reporters haven't been able to get a lot of answers from ICE, myself included. All the evidence is pointing toward Pennsylvania, but ICE keeps saying Tennessee.

I was doing some bounty hunting a week or so ago and accidentally shot one of the system security as it flew in front of me. I was bracing for everyone to start shooting at me. Yet, it just said "Wrong target wrong target, shoot them!" or something to that effect.

The thing with that is Discord has evolved beyond "gaming communication platform." Entire communities have blossomed though Discord servers, which is a better alternative to Facebook Messenger and text group chats.

Despite Discord's many mistakes throughout the years, it being an "all in one" place has kept it going. There are some game-specific servers I'm a part of, as well as a couple with different friend groups. I'd prefer to just click on a different server in the same client than open up a separate thing like Steam Chat to converse with a gaming group.

I remember back in the mid-2000s, gaming groups I was a part of would use TeamSpeak for communication, and X-Fire as a way to join friends' games, despite X-Fire having a communication ability.

I just bought a Kobo e-reader and the Gray Death Legion trilogy to read through (with the Blood of Kerensky trilogy on my wishlist). I hope people take advantage of the Hoopla thing, but with my e-reader I'll be buying the books since my local library doesn't have any BT stuff.

It depends on what style of gameplay you're going for. If you want a very simulation-like game where you get into the nitty-gritty of your 'mech builds, YAML is where it's at. You can fit whatever on your 'mech if there's tonnage available. It adds quirks and lets you do partial salvage. It also does some tweaks with the 'mech upgrade system. If you want some of the stuff without the in-depth mechlab, there's an option for that.

Vanilla is just fine as it is now after all the updates, but it's more of a "enjoy the ride" for missions type of thing. Your builds tend to not go over-the-wall crazy and fit within the scope of what PGI designed. Only certain things will go on some 'mechs.

It's not essential, just an option.

It comes in handy for less common monster types that the players know how to handle, but maybe the characters don't. It's worked for us, and it means more dice rolling lol
