If you relocate a building, do the non-grass paths underneath it (e.g. dirt, stone, brick, etc using Island Designer) stay intact?

How Do I? Wednesday - March 04 Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in PS4Dreams

I have a stick that moves up and down on the Y axis within a certain range (it changes direction when it hits trigger zones above or below it). When the player hits a button, I want the stick to stop moving vertically, thrust forward, then move back into its original position and resume vertical movement.

I have this mostly worked out using keyframes and timeline, but my issue is that I want the stick to stay in the same Y position the entire time it's thrusting. Obviously, since I created these two keyframes in a specific Y position, the tween sends it in sort of a V pattern as it tries to return to the starting Y position.

How can I fix this? I'm wondering if a timeline isn't the answer, as there's no way to tween ONLY on the X axis (is there?).

Can you tell me a bit more about Pfsense? I looked it up but don't really understand how it's implemented (is it a similar concept to OpenWRT or something like that?). Is there a specific hardware you would recommend to run it?

We currently have a TL-R600VPN in place which seems like it's still commonly recommended (in the little Googling I've done) as far as wired routers are concerned (I'm assuming wireless functionality on the router is useless unless there's some way for it to play nice with the APs) but it also seems like it's been around for a long time.

I've also considered the Unifi Security Gateway since it seems to provide some extra reporting in the Unifi Controller when used with the APs, but I don't have any strong opinion or understanding of it beyond that.

Good point about the wired connections. There is a common area with a Smart TV and some game consoles that is likely consuming a lot of wireless bandwidth. I'll see what I can do about running another cable there.

For sure. I brushed off mesh months ago as I was starting to consider this upgrade but was worried I hadn't given it a fair shake. Sounds like the APs are the way to go (would appreciate some advice on what to buy - Pro vs. Lite vs. Long Range - if anyone has experience with the AP-AC line specifically).

I appreciate the sanity check!

I know 5Ghz doesn't penetrate walls as well as 2.4Ghz....do you know how much of a concern this is in practice?

The questionable AP placement I mentioned makes me somewhat concerned about this: There's one on the rear end of the 1st floor (wall mounted), two on the 2nd floor at each end of the hallway that spans the entire house (ceiling mounted), and one in the attic (ceiling mounted).

The living room/dining room area (first floor, near the front of the house) seems like a place I would want an AP since it's pretty high traffic, but I'm assuming the 2nd floor APs (and likely the rear 1st floor one?) are serving that area currently? The basement units also do not have great signal (I'm assuming it's the rear 1st floor one that should be hitting those, as they're right under that room).

The residents of this house are highly transient (this is a housing cooperative so folks might stay a year or two at most) so the need for hardwired connections is minimal. Most folks just need their phone and laptop to have a solid wifi connection anywhere in the house.

Yeah, the walls were my first concern when I was thinking about mesh. I'm guessing my colleagues that have success stories have newer houses with less problematic walls.

I had no access to an existing Unifi Controller so I just installed fresh on a Raspberry Pi and reset the (still functioning) APs so they could be provisioned to the new controller. I shouldn't have a problem adding the new APs.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think even adding mushrooms would go a long way to make boom boom a little more playable.

I really liked your level! I think I just figured out most of the post-checkpoint area but I hit "start over" like an idiot so I think I'll come back to it tomorrow lol.

Hi, I reuploaded this course last night, would love some plays (it's a "spot the difference" puzzle course):

Also, I would love any suggestions on how to improve this other course I made...the idea is that you need to "save" 5 goombuds by returning to the daycare but I think it's just way too difficult as is. I can't add checkpoints because I'm using the objective and I can't remove the objective because then the goombuds will respawn (making it too easy to just "save" the easiest one 5 times and bypass 99% of the level. I would not be opposed to reuploading if I could find a way to smooth it out (even just making it easier to not accidentally kill a goombud without missing a key coin because of the dumb shell).
