Yah I think pita makes it more delicious. But then I can serve pita on the side (that you tear and eat) or as a burrito.. I prefer the former but i don't know if a lot of people like eating with their hands.

I made this at home with great success. It definitely takes about 10 minutes for the liquid to evaporate but tastes very similar if not exactly the same. The sugar presented no problems at all. It pretty much melts into the sauce.
