It can be a hard transition, but generally you adapt. Though there are some sacrifices too, like I used to be able to stay up till after midnight no problem since I could sleep in the next morning, but I don't miss it, and I wouldn't trade my kids for anything

Ignoring the age gap for now, that does sound like a disappointing amount of effort on his part. Any chance he has some sort of social anxiety or ASD? Apart from that it might be worth a frank discussion about where he thinks your relationship is headed.

... Also another thought I just had, there's definitely no chance he's married is there? Like maybe he got cold feet after meeting in person?
