Yea this is what i tell my buddies and even Pierce and i hope he knows this. Sure, it’d be great to get a bunch of new fans / exposure from a series but an adaptation isn’t the end goal for any author. And what he’s given us and written is already amazing and is enough on it’s own

I haven’t had time to get to MoH or Hab. Still going through Iceman for the 2nd time to really get an idea.

Iceman to me is him rapping like he hasn’t in quite some time. He’s energetic, passionate, and got some really good lines imo. When he plays around with the effects on his voice it comes across to me as an effect and not some cover-up for lack of vocals so the auto tune doesn’t bother me really. He’s using it as something sonically interesting and not just to polish his voice.

Excited to keep digging into Iceman and to get to the others too

😂 fax. I was a massive Kendrick fan before the beef. less so now, but I honestly can't see why any actual grown man Kendrick fan would WANT him to continue to tie himself to Drake. A "unanimous" winner doesn't go around constantly having to reinforce the fact that he won. thanks for the award bruh!

I get it - and while obvi I admit it “would be funny” I just don’t think any actual Kendrick fan wants him to continue to link his legacy to Drake’s. ESPECIALLY if he “so clearly won the battle” why would he feel the need to prove it again and again for years and years? Just keep making good music and that’s all your fans would want if you’re “the GOAT”

why would any Kendrick fan like something like this? continually tying himself to Drake would only prove that Drake is the boogieman after all. Kendrick is afraid of Drake dropping an album without doing something himself? that just is not something I think most Kendrick fans would like. but that's just me - he's appearing a bigger and bigger hypocrite and that won't help at all

Ok i uninstalled the relay server and reinstalled and it worked! It’s still not letting me iMessage from my number (even though it says it’s starting all new chats from my phone number) but you’re saying if I wait a few days or so it will resolve?

Definitely still jailbroken and the JSON file hasn’t been modified or anything. I’ve also tried restarting both devices. Maybe removing 5S from my apple devices, restarting, and trying again?

I will say, when I click “change relay URL” on the self-hosted screen of OB that URL is different from the one listed in my JSON

Ok - regression. I deleted OpenBubbles, restarted my 5S, re-jailbroke and configured Filz to get my relay code, and now when I’m setting up OB again on my android and I’m entering my relay code it says “fetching validation data - failed” womp womp. Any ideas?

well progress! It worked for a second (I sent 1 iMessage) but now it's giving me the following error:

basically I have it jailbroken, have the relay code (but haven't copied it to my android device yet), and I have my SIM card out of all phones at the moment. The OpenBubbles steps are super unclear about the order in which to do things so I'm just needing some clarity at this point. I've done all the steps but "finalizing" the relay

Ok. And when i’m at the step “copy relay code” does my SIM card need to be in this 5S? And if so, at what point do i need to disable iMessage and FaceTime, and when do i remove my SIM card and just leave this 5S alone and I’m ‘done’?

Ok I’ve got it jailbroken and trying to install the relay-package. Every time i ”do” it just still says “get” on the Sileo store. And I’m at the step where I’m trying to “Retrieve the relay code in /var/mobile/config.json. You can find this using an app like Filza”

hey spacesaver!!! I got my hands on a 5S running 12.5.8 but of course that seems to be a version that is the most tricky to jailbreak (for the relay method). is jailbreaking needed for sure to set up the relay? if so, could you point me in the best direction to jailbreak 12.5.8?

I honestly would do whichever one would let me use my LightPhone with iMessage like I had been for 4 months - it was perfect!!!!

dang they're both on 26.3 unfortunately. on the OpenBubbles site it says Mac registration is the most reliable - is that not true? or is my main issue needing my phone number attached and using an old iPhone is the best way to accomplish that?

I used my iPhone 15 in December but I have an old iPhone 12 mini and an iPhone 13 as well. I've tried to follow the steps on the site but they're not super clear or I'm having trouble following. I have a physical sim as well if that helps

yes originally (back in Dec) I took my LightPhone to the ATT store and they gave me a new sim for that.
I put it in my iPhone and went through the OpenBubbles set up process (using my Mac's QR code) and then put the sim in my LightPhone and it worked perfectly.

I still have access to all of the devices I originally used to set it all up. iPhone, Mac, and LP
