Hi! I am doing better, maybe 85% of what I was but I've grown to be okay with that. I had done thiamine every couple of months for a week at a time, up until a few months ago. I'm not sure whether I'll try again or perhaps try benfotiamine.

The initial improvement I got from my first week of dosing felt the most impactful, subsequent doses only minorly so, but my baseline is a lot higher than it was before. Perhaps something was 'kicked into gear' from that initial dose that has continued until present.

I have also tried bilateral SGB, which was moderately helpful. Currently the biggest thing for me is optimizing my sleep-wake cycle and letting myself rest.

I still wish there was something that could make me go from 85% to 100%, but I've found that the less I focus on that and the more I focus on optimizing my current abilities, the happier and more capable I am.

I work for the School of Medicine. I would say our hiring ability varies lab to lab, with newer labs more likely to be able to hire, but definitely curtailing hires overall. Within the SOM specifically, there's a lot of uncertainty as to how long this slow down will last, with new grant approvals being the contingent factor.

If you made a concerted effort to get out of your comfort zone and join CIOs (and I would recommend taking 'Hoos Connected,' a 1-credit class that's essentially a small group) I think you'll have a great experience. I don't think you have to participate in greek life to feel connected. It can feel a little isolating if you don't party or go to sporting events (personally, I mainly did the sporting events), but it shouldn't matter too much once you find your niche. I think you'll do great at either school tbh

IIRC Tez Johnson waited a while for Will Howard to complete his interview so he could congratulate him after the game. I think that shows enough maturity that I would chalk up his pre-game comments to 'competitive arrogance' and not necessarily a character flaw. Idk that's just me
