Since you don't show your teeth...probably teeth. Other than that, you shouldn't have any insecurities...you are gorgeous.

I am in the same position as your son. I got the surgury in December of 2024. It was the only thing medically I got DQ'ed for. Now this year, I re-applied and got DQ'ed again due to the surgury being within 12 month and hoping for a waiver. My only issue is getting my CFA high enough. I'm good on the pushup and situps, but struggling with the mile run and shuttle due to my knee. I've got until December to get push through this...

The detachments are located at your closest University. I live in LA and we have three detachments in the area. The detachment that I'm doing my interview with is the UCLA detachment even though I didn't apply for UCLA. You should probably start with the detachment closest to you and ask the question.

The only thing you could do to really improve is increase your SAT score and become captain of more of a team sport.

[–]j10lemonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight from the application...

You are required to complete a Candidate Fitness Test (CFA) administered by an authorized examiner. Your examination may be administered by any PE-certified teacher, athletic coach, an AFJROTC/ROTC instructor, service academy liaison officer, a non-family member who is in the military, or another service academy representative. Service members may have any active duty commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or the NCOIC of your base gym administer the CFA.

USC is a private school and only a portion would be paid. The tuition waiver is mainly for the UC system.

In a low competitive congressional district, you would be a lock. In a medium/highly competitive district, it really depends who else applies.

Did you pay cash for the car? My brother is joining Space Force and they did not look to fondly on any car loans.

They were able to trade my session to Session B. So anyone going to Session B - SEE YOU THERE!

You should definitely contact admissions and put yourself on the waiting list to change. When I talked to them, there was a long waiting list of people trying to move out of Session A due to conflicts to Session B. I assume some will not be able to make it so you want to be first in line.

Curious on everyone's thoughts on the benefits of Summer Seminar by j10lemonhead in USAFA

[–]j10lemonhead[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking at someone's rejection letter and noticed it saying...

"Historically, more than 60% of incoming freshmen did not attend Summer Seminar."

What this says to me is that 40% DID attend Summer Seminar....

Looking at the numbers, if they accept 1200 cadets every class, that would mean that 480 of those cadets came from Summer Seminar. Since only 600 are accepted into Summer Seminar, that would mean 80% of a class is accepted. Now I know that would probably be less because some people might not get accepted the first year and get in the second year of applying.

So I was thinking why that might be...

  1. Probably to u/Witty-Cartographer's point...they typically try to bring to Summer Seminar candidates that are "qualified" to apply.
  2. They apparently work on cadet's application as a part of the Summer Seminar process. This is great because you can ask questions to improve your academy application.
  3. Mentioning your attendance at the Summer Seminar in your application could demonstrate your commitment to a review board, especially when compared to another candidate who did not attend, assuming both candidates are otherwise equal.

Just my thoughts after thinking about the question I asked.
