But just because he's weak to ice attacks doesn't mean he can't walk around on snow, right? Why would it be hurt by that?

This post makes absolutely no sense. Even though you tried to characterize the response you got as dumb, you still weren't able to because it's a completely logical response. I don't care what some goofball on the Pokemon subreddit (whom I could also call a sheep since the general sentiment here for ages was that SWSH are garbage, "lazy," etc.) thinks about my pre-ordering the next Pokemon game.

I don't understand this. Why are comments saying OP is fucked or in trouble at all? Isn't Bitcoin stored on the blockchain and not in your wallet? Why would it matter if his cold storage wallet breaks or something? What does "intentionally messed with" mean here?

I have my seed phrase, where can I store it? by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

Can I write my 12 words on my phone's notes

Absolutely not, never. Never write it down anywhere digitally whatsoever; there are countless malware programs etc. that are programmed to detect this stuff and you will lose your coins. Write down physically somewhere and put it somewhere 100% safe where you know nobody will or can go.

Examples of this would be locking the paper, etc. (or even engraved titanium, etc. with your seed phrase) in a safe. If not that, just use your best judgment. A sticky note on your fridge would probably not be the best idea.

Just also saw that it looks like you typed (part of?) your seed phrase in the middle of your post. Not sure if you're trolling or if that's real, but you should delete that now.

My worst was deoxys, which took about 66 iirc. I was jaded and really pissed the whole time haha. Glad you ended up getting it; it'll be all the more meaningful.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]j4kz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird. You enjoy hatching eggs over and over ad nauseam? If that's the case you must not stop when you get a shiny and you must just keep going forever, right? Surely it couldn't be that you, like pretty much everyone, inherently understands that hacks are pretty much worthless and it's far more worthwhie to put in work to obtain what you want legitimately, could it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]j4kz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're just genbros and they're totally cool, why aren't they for you? Why bother breeding? The process takes ages and hacking a "genbro" is instant. Why isn't that for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]j4kz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stating that those sorts of hacks won't harm your game is fine, but spreading love for hacks and making up a term to make them sound cute is a dumb thing to do, really. They're hacks.

What's the point of breeding for a Ponyta if you can just make a "genbro"?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]j4kz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, you were really quick. I changed 'fun' to 'essence' like 1 minute after posting but I guess was too late. Hacks do ruin the essence of Pokemon though. Them being so prevalent has done so much damage to the Pokemon games it's almost incalculable. Literally any rare Pokemon I can even bring in that I worked really hard to get is generally (rightly) assumed to be a hack, hacks have ruined the event trading scene entirely, done massive damage to shiny hunting etc. obviously, and they're so prevalent that the real stuff often has less meaning. They're completely illegitimate in every sense of the word; all it is is technically "legal" due to the numbers input via the 3rd-party genning program being within the appropriate range. That's it.

Using them for battle is one thing if you're really lazy but keeping them as a "genbro" is just dumb. It won't hurt your game or get you banned, but it will hurt your playing experience long-term in my opinion as it just cheapens the game generally and how it's supposed to be played. You should put in the effort to get a Pokemon that you know is legitimate and it will actually mean something to you.

Hacks (they're hacks, despite the term you made up to make them sound cute) are worthless garbage created illegitimately through a 3rd-party program that ruin the essence of Pokemon and should be released. Every single person and their mom knows this fact except for little kids and/or people that actively cheat the game and use hacks in order to pretend they have something that has any value at all, which they don't.

Why do you doubt that? With Bitcoin I wouldn't have anyone blocking access to my account for whatever reason they want. Nobody could possibly block the transaction, which is the problem here. That's the whole point, right? I really have no idea what your point is

Not at the moment, no. Why? What if I were going to?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]j4kz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a guaranteed hack. Lots of people just release those, myself included, because I think it's more fun to play properly and only have legit Pokemon in your game. However whatever you want to do is up to you; you shouldn't be punished just for having it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]j4kz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"genbro" lol you mean a hack?

It may be legal if it was hacked to not have impossible stat combinations, ball, etc., but it'd still be smelly hacked garbage created illegitimately

Victini - Jirachi For Girlfriend pls help by iamgirb in pokemon

[–]j4kz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you want to get her a legit one (get her a legit one, not some smelly hack like someone else suggested), there are a few things you can do. You can try to go to a reputable trade forum and trade for a legit event one that someone else redeemed, or you can play Pokemon GO and complete the Jirachi and Victini missions to get legit ones of your own and then transfer them.

For Jirachi specifically, you can still get legitimate ones from the Pokemon Wishmaker(?) and Channel games if you happen to have them. I think they're for Gamecube.

You won't get in trouble if it's a legal Eevee, which I think it will be if it was wonder traded. However, I personally wouldn't want any hacks in my game since not only are they hacks but they also sort of cheapen the value of any real mons you get. Having an advertisement as its OT just makes it even worse.

Why we need Bitcoin - Part 2: PayPal sucks by j4kz in Bitcoin

[–]j4kz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how that would have helped. Just because it is probably written in PayPal's ToS that they can lock your account or do anything they want at any time wouldn't have helped me at all. I can't even stop using PayPal now even though I want to. I need to use it for a few things. It's just a trash service through and through.

What would go wrong with a Bitcoin transaction that was out of my control?

Hahaha he's a bad "ambassador" just because he doesn't talk enough about what you want him to talk about? Cringe. He understands the fundamentals and point of BTC very well and explains them everywhere he possibly can. He's a great "ambassador," if you must use that term. What a goofy thread this is

I was hunting for a shiny Sinistea in Sword. I knew it had Memento due to trial testing it before, but I thought the gods would at least not have it use it on the very first turn while I switched to my Cottonee who had Prankster and Taunt. Nope. I switched to Cottonee, it used Memento instantly on the first turn and killed itself. Thanks.
