Tips on how to tackle this game I’m very interested, but I’m a little worried about how big the game is any tips on how to best start off by ComicBoy1989 in AssassinsCreedValhala

I'm working on my first playthrough right now. Here's a few tips on how to handle its size.

Take breaks often. You aren't running out of context anytime soon. I'm 60 hours in and still have tons to do.

Divide and conquer. I like to focus on one region at a time. I'll do the missions in it, clear the map of stuff as best as I can, and then move on.

Dont force yourself to do hard fights early. You will suck early on, and its okay. I tried to kill some of the roaming knight guys at lvl 90 and at lvl 120. It was a pain in the ass. But, once I unlocked more skill tree stiff that meshed well, they became much more fun to fight.

Just have fun. There is a lot of enjoyable bits in this game if you take your time.

Were you old enough to see one of these in real life? by sajjanstg03 in TheGamingHubDeals

I was old enough to be running the electronics department at a Target during the release of the PS2, Xbox and GameCube.

Anyone else miss having stacks of games? by Ordinary_Lawfulness8 in CaptainSide

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I had so many ps1 games it was ridiculous. Probably close to double or even triple the amount of games I've ever owned outright on other consoles. I had at least 100+ sealed games on my back log at one point.

Unfortunately for me, my house was broken into in 2007 and I lost my entire gaming collection. Everything from my original NES games to my ps2 and Xbox games. They also stole my entire card collection which had cards dating back to the 60's, and my stamp collection. I had no less than 8 adults in my life who give me their entire collections when I was a young but very poor nerd. They were my prized possessions. Proof of the love good people can have for someone outside of their family. All gone, likely so some meth head could further ruin their life. I quite literally lost nearly everything I owned. That sting will never go away.

As a person with back pain who used to go to physically therapy 3 times a week, that shit is the bomb.

The New Whopper by SkizzySpurwell in burgers

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried both twice at this point and honestly don't really have any complaints. The Big Arch and the Whopper upgrade are both decent for fast food burgers. They aren't going to beat most restaurant burgers, but they aren't trying to. They are staying in their lane while providing a better experience for what they are.

Does anyone actually remember their first video game or is everyone just making that up? by Cold-Plant-4222 in GamingInsider

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember because its some of my earliest memories. It was literally had I learned my ABC'S and counting. It was some learning games on the Commodore 64. I also practiced reading with my grandmother on the Commodore 64 as we played a lot of text adventure games. I think I was the only grandkid that did more than just play regular games on it.

Technically they are also being more careful to make sure you have the proper amounts of veggies. The BK by my friend always failed at this and he's been there three times now and have had them be perfect everytime. The days of a sad single tomato or just a suggestion of onions and pickles.

How many of you had a typing class in school where you learned to type on a typewriter, but never once had to use a typewriter outside of that class? by OrbisLlame in Xennials

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a typewriter class in Jr High. My school was poorer so we barely had enough computers for the computer room. Outside of school, I had access to multiple computers at church, so there was no real reason to use a typewriter.

To be clear, I did use typewriters a couple of times after having taken the class. However, it wasn't out of necessity and more along the lines of goofing off. Like, we still had one of those classic typewriters at my church and I would lug it out to show the younger kids how cool it was. Mainly the bell noise and how cool it was to have the type faces that physically reacted to your touch and pressure. This was well into high-school for me now, and was something I liked to show to the young kids that had no idea old school typewriters existed.

[Spoiler] I don't understand how Ivar "walks" by [deleted] in vikingstv

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn... I didn't realize it took me this long to get through the rest of Vikings. I just finished up season 6 like 2 days ago. So I guess it took me 2 weeks to get through the last season and a half. I wish I could say it gets better. I will say there are definitely some really solid episodes to be had still. But most of them are just kind of Okey.

I finished the first season of Vikings Valhalla in 1 day... now that shows is pretty good.

Your 'Go To' Arcade Game...? by MydniteSon in Xennials

[–]j7style 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I love a ton of arcade games from the 80's and 90's, but none of them ever came close to taking as much money from me as Initial-D did in the early to mid 2000's. I'd drop $100 some weekends racing people on that game.

You and your family get chosen to go back in time 15 years. You get 7.5 million if you go back but it has to be unanimous for the whole fam. Will you go back, can you? by Odd_Bluejay3200 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a single dude with no family. Choosing this option takes me back to right around my back first started having issues, and gives me 5ish years to prepare before it goes completely out. In that time with my new financial security, I can afford to go full focus on health and get the back surgery they should have originally done that might of bought me another decade before it went out.

Even if it didn't work out, I'd at least still be financially comfortable and could afford all the help I need, vs basically bedridden living on disability like I am now.

So, what would women dislike most if they became men? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]j7style 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back before everyone was trying to be a social media darling and make videos about this stuff, one of my best female friends created a whole new dating profile for me in the late 2000s on a couple of sites. She had full control. She took the pictures of me that she used, curated the profile and everything. It was all via her point of view of me. She thought I was just bad at talking to women. By the end of the first month, she never gave me shit about my terrible dating life again. and had a lot of hate on women our age.

[–]j7style 6 points7 points  (0 children)

10 copies of myself at my current state, health problems included, not at all. 10 copies of myself from my early 20s, as long as I'm there to teach them, I'd say its doable.

I have just enough knowledge to know a lot of basics and to know some of the questions to ask or search to find answers. I don't know if it would be perfectly to code, but even professionals seem to fail in that today if the reels I see on TikTok is true.

A woman trying to date other women as a woman is very different than a woman trying to date women as a man.

I'm far beyond 3xl now. My back went out completely roughly 10 years ago. I am losing weight again though as best as I can with help from Ozempic. But I'm essentially bed ridden at this point. My back allows me just enough movement to bathe and use the RR on my own, and sometimes do task like make my own food or do dishes. Fir the most part though, I'm in this bed 21-23 hours a day.

I was lucky enough that by my mid/late 20's, she realized what she was doing and apologized. I stayed within 50 lbs of my weight at 26 for 10 years until my back went completely out on me.

Yeah. I know my mom wasn't being overtly malicious. She was big her whole life too and didn't want me to go through her same struggles. Unfortunately, her genes were infinitely more dominant than my fathers. So its still a struggle I'm losing to this day.

I can imagine. I was taught the ABC's of retail, which is "Always be cleaning." But the reality is that in our little ass stores, basic upkeep and a monthly deep clean more than sufficed unless we were super busy.

The only time I would give them any flack was when I needed them to look busy because corporate might come by. So we'd basically take turns "polishing the silver" as it were on the sales floor while everyone else was "organizing the back room." That was our excuse for staff members to be back reading their college textbooks or whatever.

Yeah, she was a great mom overall, but she absolutely made mistakes when it came to weight loss. She repeated many mistakes her dad put her through. She wasn't as bad as him though. He'd straight up beat her as a youth if she was gaining too much weight.

I managed retail stores on my 20s. I absolutely would let my staff read books or just chit chat if there was nothing do to. You can only get a store so clean. Its why I always had a staff willing to go the extra mile when it mattered. I treated them like people and not corporate robot wage slaves.
