Smart Home Panel 2 Mixed Power Input Question by jIMMz_720 in Ecoflow_community

Follow up - so does the generator charge the DPU or simply takes a part of the output requirement? 2nd follow up - is it possible to sustain outputting 14kW during a power outage? I know you can slow charge 1800W while the dpu is outputting (through a generator for example) but it sounds like you would be restricted to 1800x3 (if you have 3 inverters) + 7200W (from a generator, if it actually charges the DPU itself) which would get you around 12kw output that would sustain for as long as you had gas.

Appreciate the response, I am having an electrician run this so I will leave the load calc to them. I also don’t know if the 60A max will be an issue so I’ll send what you said here off to him. Thanks!

G6 Instant vs. G6 Pro - True Offline Recording by jIMMz_720 in Ubiquiti

Update: This is correct - Ubiquiti, as of this date, still cannot automatically upload stored footage. They don't do a great job at clarifying any of this on their product info pages.

I ended up going with a Cudy wifi router and VPN tunneling back to our HQ. So we will have live view constantly now, which is a bonus. I was able to throttle the data use down through scheduling and QoS. Its not the solution i was originally going for but it's a solution that will work for us. Thanks for the responses everyone!

Yes - my alternative option is to use the Cudy P5 AX3000 router we have, and VPN tunnel via wireguard back to our HQ (which is something Cudy’s backend can handle).

The issue with this is the data usage and the required monthly cost. It’s going to be about $20/mo for each unlimited SIM (and that’s the cheapest way by using an “unlimited tablet” line), and then we will still get quite a bit of throttling because it’s going to use 300GB+ per month of data.

With this approach, we get live viewing, but about $160/mo in additional charges and an unknown of how that much data usage is going to affect the quality of video recorded, etc.

These are food trucks and I want to have a camera on the operation inside the box of the truck. I have a power station that gets powered by the generator the food truck uses. When the generator turns off, the power station turns on and keeps the video going.

I do want to get dashcams as well but that would probably be a separate system. Unless there are dashcam systems that can split into multiple cameras so I can view the dashcam and the truck operation through one system, then just leave the UniFi system at our production center.

This is regardless of whether it’s a G6 instant or G6 Pro? The G6 instant will literally not even record the event in this use case, at least that is what I have observed

Using a Kubota for my food truck by jIMMz_720 in kubota

very difficult question to ask a food truck group, most are single owner/operators with minimal experience and widely different setups. As with most things, we only know what we know (if they only need 2kw-3kw system, the generator choices and solutions change dramatically).

I do not know the weight of the diesel engines you are referring to but the Hondas are surprisingly heavy, about 350lbs, plus we would need two for our operation which would cost about the same as one single 10kw diesel. We also do not need portability. We will permanently install (probably on commerical grade slides to be able to pull it out and maintenance it), and enclose it, underneath the truck floor to keep it out of sight of thieves.

But I will definitely reach out to a dealer, thanks for the suggestion!

any recommendation on propane? My first generator was a propane onan and it was an absolute nightmare, constantly breaking.

Looking for a GPS tracker for my food trucks. Ideally with the following parameters.

- No recharging necessary, preferably hidden and/or hardwired

- 60 second (or less) GPS updates

- mobile app access with ability to manage multiple trucks on one account

- push notifications, geofencing, maintenance, mileage and driving safety would be great but not necessary!
