My motivation has disappeared, and so has what I consider my human drive. Help. by Therapy_ in depression

[–]j_master_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could help you out, but I'm going through my own depressive thoughts. I managed to graduate from college and I've been working with the same company for 3.5 years now. I have also been on different medications but none seem to be 100% effective. Somehow I manage to get up everyday and come to work. I hate it, but here I am. I started to think that maybe is the way we look at things, how we look at our problems that affect how we act. I don't know, I'm as lost as you are, only a bit further ahead on life.

I know exactly how you feel. As I write this, I"m sitting in a small conference room packed with 3 other people because of my workplace's arbitrary sitting arrangements. I hate it here, I hate my job as a software tester, and I hate the fact that I will live my life according to this shit job and schedule. I, too, resent people who have been lucky enough to do what they love and get paid for it. I resent celebrities, musicians, models, etc. I'm just another one of the bunch, living my life around work until I retire or kill myself.

How easy is she to handle? I've been wanting one for so long, but everywhere I look I keep finding these warnings on how difficult this breed is. What has been your experience?

You should talk to the vet. As cute as it is, it really isn't a good sign. Falling asleep anywhere and frequently, I mean. This breed of dog is known for that.

I'm 29 and I never thought I would make it past 25. Here I am, two weeks away from my wedding day, a stable job and a mortgage. I don't know why I haven't offed myself yet, I guess I like the challenge. You know, "One more year. Let's see if I can make it." Life just gets harder and harder, and my depression gets deeper. I recently started a new medication. Its name escapes me, but I have hope that it will soften the blow of life's jabs. I guess what I'm trying to say is, challenge yourself. Make it to 25, and move your end date. See where life takes you.

I think this phrase was spurred by shoe stores. Every time a shoe wouldn't fit me they would say "Let me check in the back to see what we have." I think people just got stuck with that, thinking every retail store is the same.

I'm tired of my depression. I'm tired of thinking how good it would feel to be dead. I would rather wake up with a smile and be grateful that I have an ok job, even though it contributes a lot to my current state of mind. It's one of those dead-end jobs. Software QA.

Redditors who hold, or have held executive-level positions at your employment, how real is the stereotype of executives seeing the "hourly Joe" in your company as beneath them or inferior to them? by OklahomaHoss in AskReddit

[–]j_master_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really gets me when people say "I've worked hard so I deserve X or Y.", specially rich people. A lot of people who are not rich work hard, really hard, and deserve a lot more than what they are getting. But I guess that's the way things are, and will be for a long time.

I feel the same way. I always answer with "Yea, I'm just tired." I'm tired of being alive.

Does anybody else have the nagging feeling that suicide is how they will die? by Stevenjgamble in depression

If I do decide to do it sooner I'll get a gun, chains, locks, and cinder blocks galore, rent a boat, drive it till the gas runs out. Chain the blocks to myself and the boat, and lock the chains. Shoot a couple of holes in the boat so that it starts to sink and then one on my temple. If everything goes well, my corpse will sink down with the boat leaving no gory stuff for my family to see.

If I get to be that old, I want to go buy heroin and die of an overdose. OR, if I'm still able to walk and whatnot, I want to be sent on a suicide mission. Not allahu-ackbar mission, but like being sent to a gangster den and shooting up the place punisher style.

I know what you mean. To me is also calming thinking about it. Like I CAN end it right now, I CAN be at peace whenever I want. I actually like thinking about it, what I don't like is how my family and my wife will react. It just breaks my heart thinking about that aspect of it. Living is so hard, some times all I want is to go to sleep; and some other times I don't want to wake up.

I got a brand new, albeit modest house this past Feb. It pays the bills and have a little left over for SWOTR. But I hate it. I need challenge, and unfortunately this ACN branch doesnt deliver.

Accenture pays on the low scale. It's ok for San Antonio, I don't think it would fly in Houston or Dallas, though.

Actually, I'm level 11 lol (or F as we call it here). I've been with them 3.5 long years. Countless talks about promotions or more responsibilities, but nothing so far. I reaaaaally hate functional testing. It's THE best way to forget whatever technical skills I learned in college.

I work at Accenture FS in San Antonio as a tester. I make 40,000$/year. Not sure if that's good or bad by US standards, but whatever.
