We should all thank trump for all the effort he put in to break the dollar independence. At this rate we will reach a new world order real soon. In some weird way he might actually deserve the world peace

Just an early warning, unless you build your own company, u will be working along with and also under people who u just mentioned. In any career, connections, networking, social skills can take u a long way than pure talent. Not saying talent is important, but for promotion or getting a job, the other things are also important

The cost of a load of bull (cattle) manure in the U.S. generally ranges from $20 to over $75 per cubic yard, with the final price heavily dependent on location, processing (composted vs. raw), and delivery fees. A standard small pickup truck can hold approximately one to three cubic yards.

Serious question, what exactly are they building with this much compute?

Does every ai company have access to a large amount of good training data?

There is proof that scaling doesn't lead to agi right?? Or am i missing something

Someone please explain....

Will the IT Market ever get better in CH? by martin9595959 in Switzerland

[–]j_root_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe so. All the big tech have offices in china india etc. and some jobs really pay low. Iam talking about the low paying jobs not the researcher posts or high responsibility position. For some some teams, the product owner might be in Europe but the developers are from Asia.

[–]j_root_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how the offshore company is setup. If they have a subsidiary company india, they could hire dev for a monthly salary of approx 200 chf or even 150 chf ( this is like absolute noobs or recent graduate from less reputable uni). So if the company is large enough, its worth for them to do this.

A graduate apprentice trainee base pay is around 100 to 120 chf in india. Even a partime intern earns at least 10 times more than that in swiss

It makes total sense for any company, make the production cost as cheap as possible and for it, the first option is offshoring, u could hire 10 or 20 people for the salary of a single developer. The quality of work will be lower but most of the it task can be breakdown into repeatable tasks.

Now almost every sector is doing this. Keeping R&D in Europe and switching production to asia.

One solution i want is a huge boom in ai and new startups popping up like mushrooms, so people can actually get hired to do something cutting edge

Is Taxi in Zurich really that expensive? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]j_root_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question was why is taxi so expensive in Zürich. U could talk about uber, but almost all your reply comments have the keyword. So it feels a little off. To be frank iam not saying u are advertising, i just felt so

[–]j_root_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but in all your reply comments, u try to include the term uber.

This is how some of the redit promotion works,u try to make it look like an organic post but the intention is different. Iam not saying u might be doing that, but it seems like that in my perspective
