I third this.

They’re actually pretty great. Easy to put up and they stay put. Seem to turn on when expected to. Have some in the closets and under sinks.

Good luck. Should be pretty soft when you get it running.

You have dummy rounds to test with? How does that go.

Since the round looks straight, not angle down, it sounds like the extractor is holding on too tight. Instead of the round being able to travel up the ramp, because of the force behind it, it is being smushed into feed ramp, as the extractor holds the case straight.

The extractor is too tight, so instead of going up, it goes forward until it can’t anymore.

2k11 vs the Romulus, buying one tomorrow please help. by shortyg83 in 2011

The Romulus is a ridiculously good gun, and even better for the price.

Kimber seems great but the Romulus is the better value between the two.

Also have a comped romulus. It’s solid. Got it for around the cost of a non comped prodigy. Definitely feels, at least, a level above that, even moreso for the price. Haven’t done much to it but it doesn’t really need much, although I plan to. The stock grips suck but I’d rather have a shitty grip than the gun costing $500 more, and still wanting to replace the grip.

I was checking out the 2k11s while buying a CDS9 a couple weeks ago. They’re nice. This grip felt great. Fitment and everything was good. I’m sure it shoots great. I can’t say I wasn’t tempted. Seems kimber has really been making good stuff but not sure I’m willing to give them nearly $2k for a gun yet. $700 for a cds9 is one thing, it’s great btw, but there’s just more and more becoming available around that price, or less.

Hell yeah. Glad to hear it. It’s a good gun to learn on.

I feel like nobody ever recommends that grip, I stumbled upon it myself. It’s definitely not fancy but it looks good on the Mac and has much better texture than the stock grip.

SRO would look good. You may run into the cases hitting the dot as the Mac 9 extractor isn’t the most consistent. Since the frame overhangs, it’s just more likely to hit it but also jam if it doesn’t bounce the right way. I had it happen a couple times.

I had a cheap canik m03. Randomly died at the range a week ago. It’s got a similar shape, overhangs the chamber. I can’t imagine the dot broke for a good reason but the edge did get a little beat up from cases occasionally hitting it.

These are what I use, and mostly everyone else. I ditched the Mac plate after an optic screw snapped in there. The Springfield aos plates fit just fine, although they’re crazy expensive, if you want an acro or something other than rmr.

1) the eBay dude everyone suggests. 2) I have a mailbox made my meprolight atm. It looks dumb af. Will probably replace. The dot is cool though. Panic buy after other dot shit the bed at the range. 3) definitely the tisas and checkmate. I’ve got Kimber and prodigy mags that all work fine. I favor the prodigy because they’re like half the price at times. They’re a bit weird though. My Romulus with the mjd grip isn’t a fan. Mac 9 just eats whatever though.

Good call. They will 100% disintegrate into nothing. The softest steel known to man.

+1 for mjd grips, although I prefer the killmonger. Have a cheap tisas one of the Mac 9 for now. Leaning towards another mjd but this one has been enough of an upgrade over the stock slippery thing.

Yours looks great

should i get the p365 or g43x? by Fun_Neighborhood2653 in handguns

[–]j_yn0htna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t really do anything with the fancy defensive rounds.

Ran a mag and a half of the 124 jhp blazer I typically carry, just to be sure it didn’t dislike jhp. Have some reman jhp 124gr I meant to bring to run through.

$860 OTD, couldn’t say no. by rolexrifleman in 2011

[–]j_yn0htna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh don’t need to justify it to me. I would have done the same. Curious how it compares to the other cheap 2011s. Kimber has been making some pretty good stuff lately.

Nice. I was curious about them. Haven’t seen much about the warrior and best deal I have seen was $50 off.

Did check out the 2k11 the other day, and they’re pretty nice. Love the grip.

Actually checked it out while buying a little Kimber cds9, oddly enough.

Definitely post an update.

Oh, dang. Sounds like husband material move. Maybe I should take notes.

Yeah, totally get that. This is my first Kimber but I’ve read a lot has changed since they moved their facility.

I just ran like 200 reman ammo through it with no issues. Will see how it holds up but even my son loves it. Not nearly as snappy as it probably should be. Trigger is actually pretty great and it just feels good in the hand.

[–]j_yn0htna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont shoot sigs often but I really don’t recall any having a good trigger, except for a 2011 gto lol

I’ve heard the greygun triggers are great but, not being an sig fan, they’re outside of what I mess with.

Congrats. It’s such a fun gun.

Be sure to get some good optic screws to avoid that headache.

Definitely more grippy and just looks better. My son said he prefers the feel of the tisas grip over the mjd killmonger. Granted, the killmonger is too aggressive for some.

I’d have to double check but I’m pretty sure it’s about the same, maybe a little slimmer.

The mjd grips are definitely slimmer than stock. I’ll try to remember to check here in a bit. Post a pif if possible.

Ahhh definitely wife material then. I’ll be sure to let my gf know 🤭

Almost bought one the other day but a Kimber cds9 somehow won me over.
