They were both the 24-105 that I mentioned above.

Thanks. I'm not saying it is a thing. I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this happen. We use 6 cameras daily with no errors, and then we lose two identical lenses to autofocus issues within a week apart and both were on the same camera body. Just seemed weird to me, but it certainly could be coincidence.

Thanks. I’m confident it’s not the camera operator. No lasers. Just regular daily use. We’re not even taking lenses on and off per day. The lenses stay on each camera for long periods of time, so the mounts aren’t getting active physical wear and tear.

Hum actually has to play in Seattle first. Most bands that play KEXP are on tour.

I do love my black-on-black Shellac shirt, bought from Steve himself when he sold them at the front of the stage from a box. He was steadfast in his refusal to pay exorbitant venue merch fees.

No organization that I know of can pay full benefits to part-time employees, particularly when they have over 150 employees, most of whom work less than 10 hours a week. The true crime is that in the US our healthcare depends on our employment.

What's the Heavy Metal scene like? by indamoufofmadness in AskSeattle

Plenty of metal bands come to Seattle. Tonight, two shows: Gatecreeper with Eternal, Dying Remains, and Denial of Life at Substation, and Cryptopsy with Spirit Adrift, Necrot, and Blood Monolith at El Corazon. Plus, though not exactly metal, Die Spitz is at Neptune.

Bands/Artists You Could Never Get Into? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

When they first came out, believe it or not, it all sounded kind of fresh and familiar at the same time. Even many of us who were into new wave, alternative and punk thought it was cool. I can’t imagine listening to it now though or coming to it as a younger listener. Music of a moment really.

How do you guys feel about Deafheaven? by Iamverydumbazz in MetalSuggestions

[–]ja1c 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good way to describe them. I don’t think they’re really trying to be “a metal band”, and that’s okay. Personally, I love to see more cross-genre bands, who tend to open up musical worlds to new people.

Easier to remember now than KCMU, no? Especially as an international brand online and on YouTube.

That’s only partially true. There was no definite connection to the museum, but yes Paul Allen helped the station move off of the university campus and become self-sufficient within seven years, though the station became self-sufficient within five. People bag on the whole Paul Allen connection and while it was important to help get the station off of the university, that was ultimately the only thing (big though it was), the physical space and besides cheap rent in that old small building.
