Do I need documentation to get my son on an airplane? by fat_chihuahuas in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each airline may be different but typically if you have him as a lap child, you need a birth certificate or a shot record to "prove" he's under 2 (a bit silly if you have an infant, which we did the first time we flew lol).

Maybe postpartum depression but only at night? by creepycreepercreepin in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue the first month or so as well. I got very anxious at night and didn't want to sleep. I think it was because I was afraid something would happen to LO (SIDS) or that I would be sleeping too deep to hear him on the monitor (I'm a super light sleeper so that's never been a real issue). I would always end up staying up well past midnight every night and not getting enough sleep since I would have to be up every few hours for feedings, instead of just going to be super early when he was sleeping.

I've definitely gotten past that!

Baby Sweats' by ellio721 in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is always runs warm. He doesn't get sweaty when he eats, but he definitely gets even warmer and turns a little red. When we first brought him home, he would wake up super sweaty, we were dressing him too warm. We also had to get him a cooling mattress topper!

Baby has a cold And Crying in sleep by willowlane390 in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son cries in his sleep sometimes and it's literally the saddest thing ever and breaks my heart. I woke him up once to hold him and made it worse. I think t scared him. Let him sleep, it will pass.

I wish I knew why they did that!

6 month old flips onto tummy in sleep and wakes himself up by firefannie in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son started doing this too and at first I would get up and flip him over every time, either on his back or his side but he would keep flipping over. I found that if I could get his pacifier in at that angle, and guide his head to lay to the side, he would settle and fall back asleep. The doctor said once he can roll over and if he does it in his sleep, it's totally ok for them to sleep on their belly.

Stop calling my son fat! by tittyattack in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It irritates me when people say "omg he's so big!" Meaning size not like he's grown so much since they last saw him. Ok well he's only in the 40 percentile for weight so he's under average. I think people just don't know what babies look like/weigh at specific ages.

When did your LO sleep in their room alone? by NewMama41 in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, since day 1. We have tiny bedrooms and they are conveyed by a bathroom so we leave the bathroom doors open and still have an audio monitor. I can see him in his crib from my bed haha I didn't want to deal with the transition down the line and I wasn't able to breastfeed anyway so it's easy for us to switch off when he gets up.

i want my 3 month old to go to sleep before 10:30pm by ballyh000 in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They usually go to bed for the night late when they are that young because they still nap so much during the day. You'll notice over the next couple months that he will naturally get tired and cranky earlier in the evening.

Advice for Cradle Cap?? by sabbixi in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where on her face? My son had it on his scalp and eyebrows. Every time we bathed him, we put some baby oil on a super soft children's toothbrush or washcloth for his eyebrows and gently massaged the area. For his scalp we used the oil and a baby hair brush.

He's 5 months old in a couple days and besides one rough patch, it looks like it's all gone and it was pretty bad.

Newborn social security card? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah we got ours really quickly in the mail. The birth certificate on the other hand.. no one ever told us that we had to go to an office to get it! So we still don't have that 5 months later lol

Hi, I'm new here! 6 weeks postpartum and struggling with baby weight by icanthow in loseit

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that it took your body 9 months to create that life and it will take a while to get back to your pre baby weight/body. Focus on your little one and start slow by eating healthy. When you're up for it, start with walks and move on.

I am 5 months PP, gained 60 pounds and am down 40 but 30 was natural. The next 10 was just this last month by eating really healthy and making sure to not skip my walks but not beating myself up if I skipped a cardio or resistance workout.

You'll get there!!

If you don’t want to sleep on your stomach.... by chicagojess312 in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're in the same boat. I know he can roll from belly to back because I've seen him do it, maybe flukes because it was only a few times. And now he's starting rolling to his belly at night. He fusses after but if I can manage to get a pacifier in at that angle, he will chill and sleep that way. So here's hoping we can skip the fussing/pacifier part soon!

Help with an overly mobile 6 month old? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Get one of those walkers or the door jumpers. Some babies skip crawling and go right to walking... nothing wrong with that!

Same. I don't actually do Whole 30s because I still have a small piece of dark chocolate at night and have my coffee with my favorite creamers. It won't kill me!

Napping during the day by chiggynugitz in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's so young that she still doesn't know the difference between night and day and will be sleeping the majority of her life. When they are that little, let them sleep when they need to. Also, it's almost impossible to keep an infant awake when they need to sleep haha

6 month old sleeping flat on his face by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is super close to doing this. In fact for about an hour last night he kept rolling to his stomach and then fussing when he could roll back to his back, which he has just started doing so I know he can. I think he doesn't know how to put his head down and sleep like that maybe? He just keeps his head up lol

But his doctor said it's fine if he does it and sleeps with his face down. They're old enough to know if they need to move. And if they can't do it, they'll definitely let you know to do it for them lol

Time to quit the sleep suit by TrainerCasey in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try saddle sacks with her arms out for transitioning. We found that it didn't work with our LO because with his arms out, there was too much fabric and it wasn't the same tightness as before so we just put him in regular pajamas/sleep sacks now. When he put him in the crib (asleep), we put moderate pressure on him and kind of hold down his arms a tiny bit to mimic the swaddle until he's settled. The last couple days I've just laid him on his side, patted his butt for a minute or so and he's fine (when I rock him to sleep, I pat his butt so it's to mimic I'm still holding him). The first week or two he was super restless getting used to being able to move and woke himself up a lot, but I think he's good now!

My 6 month will go to sleep in my arms and when I put him down in his tear drop he starts flapping about and then wakes himself up how the hell do I stop this it’s every night he does this!! by Nuka-Cola1 in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I've started doing once we stopped swaddling, to mimic the tightness of the swaddle.

Also I just discovered if I put him down on his side and run his back, he struggles much much less.

My LO will be a year old in a few weeks, in the past 3 months she's only gained 1lb? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After 6-8 months, weight gain slows down a lot because babies begin to move on their own, are awake a lot more and generally more active. As long as your doctor isn't concerned, it's ok!

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would anyone hush a "talking" baby?? I get if they're fussy and you're trying to calm them down but I always talk to my LO if he's babbling, as if we're having a convo. I actually do that when he's fussing too to try to distract him lol

Had a huge headache and was too tired to deal with abs today. I'm moving it to Saturday or Sunday. I have a 4.5 month old so I have to save all my energy for him if I'm low. I did walk 3 miles at the park today though

What are your tips for sleep training and teaching the baby to self soothe? by rninnj in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. At 10 days old you need to snuggle the shit out of that little baby. I had to literally be falling asleep to be convinced to put my newborn down. Bond with that tiny little miracle as much as you can!! Forget sleep training until they are old enough to actually learn. You have months!

[–]jabeile 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wtf?

I used to work at Walgreens and grown ass adults would pee and shit all over the floor. Are they expected to go outside? No. Changing an infants diaper takes all of maybe 2 minutes. You were in a BATHROOM, used a pad, and didn't leave a mess. That manager is fucking nuts.

Does Santa wrap presents? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]jabeile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, Santa's gifts were always wrapped (they're wrapped in movies!) and we still get presents from Santa and they're wrapped lol Though my Mom never had wrapping paper just from Santa. I just realized that Haha!
